I lost trust in all of these black hair care products a while back and stay making ALL of my own hair products. I don’t sell them but I do teach others how to make them (on my channel). My hair & scalp is THRIVING from using 100% natural ingredients from nature. They take minutes to make, they’re very cost effective and I trust only myself with the health of my hair - some of these big companies do not care about our hair and health. Their main care is their bottom dollar. I’m happy to have taken back control of my own hair health. And will continue to teach others all that I have learnt. Thank you for your thoughts on this topic!!

When she sold it, the product never became cheaper for the consumer, it only became even more untrustworthy and clearly mishandled with production care. It's disheartening to know that she sold out for more money and demands our blind trust without even wanting to look into her products or why this could be happening. I was a loyal consumer and here I am with bald spots. Can't trust these black hair companies anymore and it's so sad.

I just don’t understand why brown brands sell out ? Other nations keep their companies and pass it down as generational wealth and for the greater good, but we as a people can’t seem to do that . Constantly an Everyman for themself mentality . If you know that selling to the larger conglomerates won’t keep the same quality and it will affect your people , why sell? Why make a company for the aid of your people in the first place ?

Because it’s not their passion. They make products because they can, not because they want to. So they have to cash out-they can’t keep working on the company anymore

I don’t think ppl are as upset about them selling to a nonblack as muc as they are about it being sold and then we’re left with an inferior product that has changed formulas we’ve grown accustomed to and now hair issues on top of it. I think the purpose of gate keeping was to try and prevent the betrayal of the damage to our hair. We find out after the fact. Black businesses ask us to be faithful to them to help them and we need the same commitment to us.

The problem is, you sell it to big businesses that are not for Black people, then you change the ingredients that is DETRIMENTAL to our health. They are saving money at our expense. Not using your mess in my hair.

It’s sad what is becoming of black hair care companies. I remember growing up. There were a lot of blk hair care brands. Even before my time, blk people had very successful brands. Same when it came to the wigs, weaves etc. but eventually got bought up by non blk. Personally black people. Are thinking of quick cash, not generational wealth. I was so disappointed when I found out shea^ Moisture, got bought up. I got confused why Shea^ moisture was no longer in the blk hair care section, in my country, they were placing them in the wh section. Then I found out they got bought out.

I believe in blk people supporting blk business. There is a beauty store that I sometimes go. It was owned by lady from west Africa. But she sold it to Ethiopian^ couple. I would go there. He sometimes did not have what I needed. He told me. It’s sometimes hard to get products, because the distribution company, only sell to ppl that look that them, if you understand what I’m saying. Blk people don’t own the distribution companies.

It's tragic what's going on with our black owned brands giving up and selling. The hair and skin care industry has never focused on the unique needs the black community! and when these brands sell to companies that have never catered to us... I'm not sure what they expected to happen. I own a hair care company and we will! continue to provide for our community.

Yes our hair is different so we can’t use ordinary hair products in most cases but whats wrong if our hair products cater to other people’s hair types? Sorry to say but saying that certain products should be only for a certain race is a bit sad in my opinion.
@Joejoyoyoyo
@Joejoyoyoyo 4 ай бұрын
Nothing wrong with that of course, just that our hair is different and (more) delicate and so needs specific hair. It’s bad enough we don’t have representation in the mainstream it sucks to get our best products taken away from us. Edit: I mean it as in if the ingredients get changed to not be accommodating to black hair types. If everything is the same, then I don’t care even if they change the names, logos, etc, so that it’s not advertised to black women anymore. 😅 Don’t care if the products are the same 😅

@@zarapeace660 we most definitely can use ordinary hair products/ wp products ..... But I like your way of thinking its smart!! Company's dedicating hair products specifically for us, is a money grab. Everyone knows we as a race spend a lot on products. I use loreal on mine and my kids type 4 hair, basically every product is from the dream lengths line. Their hair has never been healthier. Before this my sons hair was breaking off and he had sever seborrheic dermatitis, from me greasing his scalp and using heavy oils and butters. Now it's just shampoo, bond treatment, conditioner, leave in conditioner and a light oil on the strands only when I'm braiding. I no longer believe in any of the natural hair community teachings as it ruined my hair.
