We Shall Over Come is one of the most popular patriotic songs in the album Bish Shataker Gaan rendered by Calcutta Youth Choir. Calcutta Youth Choir was started in 1958 by Ruma Guha Thakurta with Salil Chowdhury and Satyajit Ray. Calcutta Youth Choir is known for their performance of folk and mass songs. The songs were performed by choir under the direction of Ruma Guha Thakurta widely includes song of Dwijendralal Ray, Rabindranath Tagore, Shibdas Banerjee, Salil Chowdhury, Sudhin Dasgupta, Anal Chatterjee, Nibaran Pandit, Manjushri Dasgupta and Anyada Shankar Roy.

Both the songs are very popular among political activists and even school children. “Ek Din Surjyer Bhor” (One Day The Sun Will Rise) is another version of this song translated by Shibdas Banerjee and was recorded by the Calcutta Youth Choir arranged by Ruma Guha Thakurta during the 1971 Bangladesh War of Independence and became one of the largest selling Bengali records.
