We Smuggled British Plaster into Switzerland

We were flown out to the Gold Coast in Switzerland after the customer found us on youtube.

Great job fellas. Switzerland is a beautiful country, i worked there many times over the years. You're right about British plaster, it's the best. The stuff we have here in Italy is a poor substitute.

Top plastering pal 👌👍👏do it exactly 💯same as me .. 😆 put 1st coat on flat enough and wet 2nd coat mint finish everytime ❤ 18years ont trowel same methods repeated over and over and you still learning little bits to make it easier and not panic pal 😉good to see a proper spread teaching process for the young lads . Marshall Town worn in metal trowel gets the wall flat not like them plastic ones that make your work look uniform but shine a light down it and full of bumps painted 😢

Love this mate would like to see more videos like this on your travels, it’s inspired me and the misses to go to Switzerland looks really nice. Can you help with an SBR question please ? I’ve put two coats of SBR onto a bare old plaster (loose paint scraped off) ceiling with a day to dry the SBR in Between coats to try and completely kill the suction. Now it’s like glass the high tack scrim tape won’t stick it just glides over and I’m worried the plaster won’t adhere. Would you paint with a grit stabilising primer over the top to help the plaster have a key? Help much appreciated thanks Graham

It’ll stick fine, only ever coat sbr, if you’re really worried then do a small psych test somewhere. Sbr when dry does have a shiny look and feel but I’ve never had a problem with it

Hey Kirk, I have a mate who lives near the Alps and is in the middle of doing a barn conversion. He has hinted he will want a hand next summer to plaster the internal walls and ceilings. My question is, did the multi plaster genuinly get imported or can you get it over the pond?

Channeling out the ceiling for the cables. Just wondering how this will effect the structural strength of the ceiling as I assume that it is a prepored ceiling and not concrete slabs.

Down low in the slab most of the work is done by the steel which is in tension. The concrete itself is doing the most work up at the top side. more of a compressive load there. As long as the channeling/ chases aren't too crazy its absolutely fine. Hope that helps

when plastering back in the late 80s we had flats to plaster and could only use bonding hardest work ive done ever i was doing the laboring and everything back than was price work, Get paid cash on the Friday morning everyone stood waiting around at 10.30am than tools away off down the boozer . back Saturday for a small extension. when floating we normally done half HSA and half browning long time ago now.

I hope he did put come CAT7 or above on that sealing to make it future proof or else he's going to have to rip it out in case it needs an upgrade. The other best thing is fiber optics.

Couple of hand fulls of cement would of sent your bonding off in 20 to 45 minutes. Add the cement to the water, give it a stir, add your bonding and move like grease lightening. You might not like it Kirk, but it's great for patching and getting beads on quickly. Been in the trade 37 years, never had a come back from doing it.
