I remember them my milkman had the smaller one and I’m sure you could use it as manual or automatic? I may be wrong but he deffo had one like 45 years ago

The Wartburg’s smaller brother was assumably the Trabant? Two stroke two cylinder air cooled and available in a Hycomat option which would explain the manual or auto option (I think) although 45 years ago they wouldn’t have been in the UK!

The RHD parts are going into a clean LHD shell, it’s the easiest way especially when the car has no chassis numbers or registration. The rest of the car will become a trailer so all lives on in another form!
