My favourite bus memory was when Jimmy went to visit a relative and Natalie drove BY HERSELF , to a desert area she liked , where there was soft sand, and stayed there all by herself....she was confident and brave....I was a nervous wreck tho !!

Natalie, I totally understand your emotions wrapped up in saying goodby to Saguaro. She brought us together as I found your channel because of her in the mist of transformation. Although, though all the ironing-out of her mechanical issues in making her "road worthy" for the long journey she would safely take you both on. Remember this time, the places, the love shared and all the learning she "The Schoolie" provided you both in this endeavor. One beautiful chapter is ending and another has begun in this ongoing love adventure in self-discovery, a deepening love for each other and the lifetime memories she selflessly gave during her travels. Congratulations! 🥂🌵💚

You guys are so talented. Not just in the two incredible builds you have done, but in all of the content you have created. There are not many people that can make a grown man cry about selling a vehicle...especially when we didn't even see the transaction. 😉 Thank you for sharing your genuine emotions with all of us. We are right there with you. Congrats on the sale. I can't wait to see your next adventures!

You will enjoy both of those books! Michael Pollan is an excellent writer and Steinbeck is....well Steinbeck! You have been working hard to sell Saguaro for so long you might be feeling a bit of shock that it's finally worked out. You will always have the memories of the build and all the great things you experienced together. Those will always be yours. Now you are no longer tethered to Salt Lake City and can feel free to explore in any/every direction your imagination points you! Looking forward to new and exciting adventures!!

Natalie you're so sweet when my husband and I got married way back in 1969. We didn't build ours but we purchase hey truck cap 2 years we then decided to buy a cab and chassis unit and have layout that we wanted. 1975 our baby and second one was coming. So we sold our motorhome. I can remember feeling the same way Natalie felt. Help with the down payment of our home. Over the past sixty four years we never did live in one full-time but we used to Camp a lot and would stay there maybe half the time. So my advice to you is to enjoy it while you can because they'll come a day that it will have to be put on hold. And don't be too sad for because the new chapter of your life has just begun 💕. You two are so sweet and beautiful. You also do fantastic work and do it. We enjoy watching you! You're a couple I would love to meet so if you ever come Pa way, l👀k us up.💕

My drawer used to slide out when I forgot to latch it. Luckily it's next to the bed so I put a bumper on the side of the bed (wood part) that the drawer will hit if I forget to latch it. So it slides open, bumps the stopper and slams back closed, then repeats the process until I stop and latch it. Way better than the drawer flying off the tracks and throwing stuff all over the floor.

This video made me cry, remembering back to many times in my life when I knew I was transitioning from one huge era of my life into a new, unknown area. Knowing you've reached the end of one chapter and are moving on, with a level of grief mixed with hopeful expectations, to the next chapter. For me, selling my first car, a 1960 VW bus that I had converted to a camper and spent 4 years living and traveling in, was one of the hardest. It's interesting to me that one of the books your buyer gifted to you was John Steinbeck's "Travels with Charlie", as I had read the book in my teen years and it influenced my decision to name my bus Rocinante, tho mostly she was affectionately known as Rosie. She was just a beat up old VW bus, but she was my first wheels and in my mind, a glorious charger. And I was Dona Quixote, a crazy hippy chick (I was 18 years old, 1972), tilting at windmills. When I was 22, in 1976, I decided to move to Alaska and get a job doing low-skill labor on the then finishing Alaska Pipeline. Quit my fairly high-paying job, sold everything I owned, planning to drive the newly opened AlCan up to Barrow, just me and my dog Lobo (a shepherd/collie mix). But, like John Lennon so famously said, life is what happens when you are making other plans. I ended up having to either abandon my Alaska plans or sell Rosie, and as I knew I was only a page or two away from that chapter in my life, I chose to sell her. The day the buyer and I went into the California DMV to transfer title, my mom was waiting in the parking lot to drive me home and I was in full on sobbing mode by the time I made it to her car. She folded me into her arms while I cried and I told her I feel so stupid, crying about a beat up old car. She shushed me and told me, you and Rosie were best friends for a long time, had a lot of adventures together, it's right that you should feel sad at this parting. So instead of driving to Alaska, I hitchhiked, me and my dog and a backpack. Never made it to Alaska, got late in the year and I decided to overwinter in Washington State before heading north again in the spring. While in Washington, I met up with an old flame and things rekindled between us. Ironically, several years later, he went to Alaska and I stayed behind. Washington State was my home for almost 40 years, and comprises many chapters in my life. Before I sold my Rosie-mobile tho, I wrote a silly little poem about her, which I will share with you here: Rose, Rose, perverted car, runs out of gas and there you are Swearing your butt off under the stars on a night that's cold and damp and foggy, Why I wouldn't put my best friend's doggy out on a night like this. Rose, Rose, demented car, she won't take you very far! Be good and kind and sweet to her, be patient and loving and mellow... And what'll she do? She'll run out of gas! She'll make you a most unmellow fellow! Now, most of the time, I have no complaint to file against Rocinante, But this time I know she did it on purpose, she ran out of gas just to taunt me! At 3 in the morning, on 299, she sputtered and coughed an died. I pleaded with her, I insincerely tried to make her see my way of thinking. But she told me she'd go no further that night, and so with a sigh I gave up the fight. I got out of my car, and feeling quite dumb, put on my coat and stuck out my thumb. And... As I was waiting for a car to come by, I made up this poem, just to make the time fly. I know that it's silly, and kinda dumb, too, but I kinda like it... And hope so do you.
