Don't feel like you need to make excuses for complaining! I know we brits cringe at the idea of speaking up, but you are absolutely right that you paid a small fortune for this and have every right to expect a high standard for that. Even a budget cruise in an inside cabin is still a luxury compared to a budget holiday on land. Your complaints aren't whining, they're consumer advocacy--they alert the public who see them to the bad actions the company is taking. And all the terrible views, and the Cruise-line doesn’t even bother to change. this reminds me of General Motors the car company. They just always thought there’d be more suckers more customers, and there were for many years and then eventually it caught up with them. I talked to the son of the general manager of a very large GM Plant about 20 years ago and he said they knew why their numbers were going down. They put out crap to save money that would break down and people would buy it and have terrible problems and they swore never again. But, they were always more people. But eventually people that you knew and yourself had problems that you just decided to go with another car make.

MSC is NOT Costa. Just had a great 11 night cruise with MSC to Egypt from Venice, these 2 companies are poles apart. MSC is not RCL, DCL, Princess but you are not paying their big prices, the trick with MSC is the smaller ships, a completely different vibe to the 6k passenger ships which can be very busy.

Here’s a pro tip: If you want to know if your travel agency is any good, check if they sell or even worse advertise Costa Cruises or ask your agent for more information on them. If they only barely imply or suggest that you should go on one, you know their credentials are probably not as trustworthy as you would have liked.

When I went to book a cruise on the NCL Epic, my travel agent's reaction was "are you SURE you want to do that?" Had she told me why she had reservations, I probably would have looked at other options. Instead, we booked it and within a couple of hours into the cruise thought we were having a Costa experience. I would consider MSC except that nearly every KZbin video shows scenes that remind me of my Costa experience. If I give them a try, it will be one of those $40 pppn cruises not spending $6k.

I went on a Costa Cruise many years ago...the food was so bad..I actually LOST WEIGHT! The people were rude and pushy, smoking was EVERYWHERE (Cigs and Cigars), crew were rude etc. The only good thing was the ship itself was beautiful...the cruise after mine...THE SHIP STRUCK A ROCK AND SANK and THE CREW LEFT PEOPLE TO FEND FOR THEMSELVES...It was the COSTA CONCORDIA.

I was thinking about the Concordia when I was observing how rude they were shouting at David to SIT DOWN when he only wanted a drink. It's very easy to understand then when that ship was sinking, how the Captain abandoned that ship to save his own life, passengers be damned. Apparently, the crew followed suit. Has anyone from Carnival actually sailed on one of these ships? How can there be such a difference in the cruise lines? It is not the ships themselves, because they have rehomed costa ships into the carnival fleet, and reviews have been pretty good. And is everyone rude because there isn't enough staff and service is terrible, or are Italians all really that rude? Its not a good look either way.

Did you not think that the Costa Concordia looked dated? I know of course it’s some years ago that it semi capsized or however you want to word it, but I don’t know, for a ship that was less than a handful of years old at the time, it looked massively out of date to me. I’m not saying that the fittings/ decoration didn’t look clean, bright and fresh, just the styling design to me seemed to be decades out of date. It’s like going round to your grandma’s house in the 90s and it’s still decorated in 70s style, for example.

It is horrendous how costa changed since covid. I have been on several costa cruises before 2020 and it was the complete difference! You got plenty of food all the day, you got Pizza for free you got everyday something else. I was shocked when I sailed last year (and will probably be my last with them ever) last year on Smeralda. I confirm everything you said and showed! It is just a chaotic circus right now but was the complete opposite when I travelled from 2009 to 2019. very disappointing

I cruised on both Costa Smeralda and Costa Toscana last year, and did find it to be tedious in parts. I found the announcements to be a nightmare - they seemed to be announcing things ALL DAY. However, I would cruise with Costa again because of their price point - I only paid about £400 for a week on here, which is SO MUCH CHEAPER than what I pay with other cruise lines. I think it’s super important to remember how little you pay to cruise with these guys!

I have done more than 86 Cruise so far and I have spent 7 days on Costa Toscana 4 Month ago. For me it was amazing. Great food, amazing staff and a nice ship. Ok the buffet is a bit weird and sometimes busy but for the price costa charges it was a very good product to me. Funny how different opinions can be.

Why do cruise ships think we must have loud music all the time. Went to a quiz on MSC and we were asked what kind of music we wanted, the audience said none. The presenter was in shock did a vote two people wanted music, that is all. So we had a quiet quiz for the rest of the cruise. Sorry your sleep has been disturbed nothing worse.

Same - this probably sounds crazy from someone who loves cruising, but I can't stand super crowded indoor spaces (where you are constantly being brushed up against). Wow, I could completely relate to every moment of your review! When you mentioned someone stopping you from taking food from the buffet and giving you a hard time, it brought back a memory of my own. It happened at a resort in the Dominican Republic, where I was staying in a suite. I had grabbed some food to take back to my room, only to be chased down by a staff member. I was so frustrated when this woman practically marched me back to the restaurant! We ended up checking out of the Barcelo that same day and moving to another resort-even though we had already prepaid. Exploring resorts was supposed to be an escape from the growing annoyances of cruising, which used to be so enjoyable. But now, here you are saying this kind of nonsense is happening on cruises too!

Again ppl with nut allergies could not eat on this cruise! They can’t eat off of a buffet ever. On a cruise they have to eat breakfast in the restaurant. It is ordered in advance & special made in a nut free kitchen just like dinner & lunch if you eat it in the dining room. On carnival they can have Pizza if they don’t want to go to the restaurant, which this cruise doesn’t have….Thank you for doing this guys. My daughter and I are packing to move to Europe in a few months

Guys your trip reminds me of our cruise on the p&o pacific Explorer this year. Our suite was directly beneath the lawn bowls (or petanque?). And we found this out when we heard them drop and roll across the ground/ suite ceiling repeatedly. When the lawn bowls weren't being bowled, it was a makeshift play area for little ones. Our room attendants were great, and lovely men. However some of the serving staff were some of the rudest, and inhospitable hospitality crew I've ever experienced, across the board. There were other things that happened but those two stood out for me. Overall i enjoyed myself anyway, but your experience reminded me very much of my cruise so i understand where you're coming from! Out of the 14 cruisers I have done on 6 different Cruise Lines, Costa has actually been our 2nd favorite. 1st is Disney. But it was just one Costa cruise in 2013 on a Mediterranean route. The Staff made the trip a wonderful experience for us.

Having lived in Naples (Napoli) for three years, what you described on board is how it is on land. The driving in Naples is insane, why have three lanes when you can fit seven cars abreast? The lines on the road, stop/yield signs and traffic lights are just minor suggestions that no one pays attention to. In a supermarket, people are constantly bumping you or pushing past you without a word. It is their culture. I have to say though, that one on one, the Italian people are lovely.

Thank you! I knew I wasn’t crazy. I spent two months in Reggio Emilia ( not sure if I spelled it correctly) and I had the worst time in my life. I was there to be a private tutor to an Italian woman to help her with her English. I discovered that this is a means to show one’s wealth by showing off your own private tutor, especially an American one. I was essentially a pet, which wasn’t that bad. But overall, it was all just a hot uncomfortable experience and later my husband came and we visited Venice, Florence, Bologna and Rome. It was the exact same experience all over. We tried to look for the positive, but all it did was to make us appreciate home even more. Thanks for the reassurance.😊❤

My god! David summed it up - a ZOO!! So sorry you had to go through this. The closest we've been was a Star Cruise Line from Phuket to Singapore for the weekend and then cruising back. Many years ago and I suspect they no longer exist. It was like a pack of wild animals had been set free. When food was involved they were literally fighting! The Ausies were actually the worst, rude, overbearing and utterly ignorant. To the point of actually threatening other passengers. Dreadful experience. To be fair, the crew were wonderful albeit unable to prevent the behaviour of certain groups of passengers (always braver when in a group aren't they). Sadly, put my guy off cruising forever, hopping down and up Malaysia should have been such a pleasure. We needed the follwing two weeks back on Phuket to recover before returning to the UK! You deserve medals! x

Oh dear! And for 6,000! The noise can be partially resolved with ear plugs, but the thumping is just as disturbing as the noise. I am not tempted by this ship! Thank you for the video!

My mom and I went on our first cruise 30 years ago on Costa in combination with Perillo. It was amazing. I’m so sad to see how they’ve changed. Not going to do another cruise with them again. I’ve been on so many better cruise lines since. Sorry for your crappy time but lots of thanks for your honest review. Get home and regroup ❤️

aw guys, gutted it didnt go to well, was on the ship in july stayed on deck 5, no noise at all, but yes, in a teeny tiny cabin lol, our assigned dining restaurant was amazing, a la carte food, delicious, who needs burgers, and fries!! honestly the food was amazing, the buffet food always amazing and very tasty, however. layout was annoying !!, , you guys go to the white party?? or the hippie party?? it was like a full on night club... amazing, also loved the infinity jacuzzis and chill out bar on deck 7, great, chilled atmosphere, i paid 692 GBP, (not including flights) for 7 nights, including drink package! you cant book bloody spain for that, was a bargain, and we loved it

You two have provided a public service, and you also helped me feel better about my most recent cruise. It was my first time on Norwegian and the food was kind of awful all week: no variety, nothing with a lot of flavor and an obstacle course for a diabetic who's trying to limit sugar and carbs. I was feeling sorry for myself, but you really put it all into perspective. I won't cruise Norwegian again, and I certainly won't add Costa to my wish list.

My God the noise would’ve driven me insane! I know Costa is a part of the carnival brand but even when I’ve sailed on carnival I’ve never had a terrible experience like what you guys just put up with. Big ass suite or not I would’ve gotten off that ship at the first stop.

This a joke of a cruise thank you for highlighting a very important part of cruising which is complementary buffet plus coffee it’s pretty basic. This is a deal breaker for me. No way spending thousands to not even be able to get a glass of water whenever I want (free) absolutely ridiculous

I am Italian and cruised with Costa in the early 2000s when it was still a premium cruise line. It seems to have gone downhill, attracting the wrong types of guests. I would have hated it too! But please, do not generalize. Every country has rude and messy people

Lol! Same. There comes a point where all sorts of ideas come into an Exhausted brain. Lack of sleep, rude employees and cruisers, no coffee, cold food that should have been served hot. Louse noises all day and night and those god awful colors all over the place. It all adds up to not an enjoyable trip.

Wow this is so interesting as our experience in the summer couldn't have been more different! We'll agree with the cooler buffet, but at least ours didn't have loads of different stations so you could get it all at once. We could always get a seat, we could always get a drink and the staff were amazing. Our cabin was also quiet (inside though). This was the Pacifica, so maybe the older smaller ones are different. We also could always find bars with no one in and could get a drink straight away. We thought we'd like to try a bigger Costa Ship, but maybe not!!! Maybe the small ones are the way to go. Great video as always. 🍻

Sounds like a nightmare. Here’s a little tip we do on all our cruises while we always book a cabin surrounded by other cabins it’s still no guarantee things will be quiet so we always bring a good pair of noise canceling headphones, we crank up the sleep sounds and get some sleep. I’ve only had to do that on one cruise but it does work.

Oh guys I felt so sorry for you but thank you so much for the heads up.. We ( hubby and I) always thought it might be a bad experience.. You see the people in port from these ships and there just like….ants running running to evade something! We’ve seen them pushing shoving and shouting… Hope you recovered soon…. The food situation is just horrendous….. Onward and upwards…… Costa by name Costa for everything 👍🇬🇧
