I see alot of comments about the cabins and yes there small but this park never used to have any accommodation. You turned up and done a day here and left. The park really isnt big enough to welcome a longer stay in proper accommodation. I think they built these to save cost of course but also to experiment how popular it would be for people to stay at the park which could lead to building proper accommodation further down the line in the future.also these cabins are ok for a over nite stay and could save a tired drive home. Great vlog as always. Uk resident.

Yes I agree. I also tried to be very kind and honest about it. There are pros and cons, I think I showed them in the best light I could but also I had to be honest about the cons. I think it’s one of those things that’s a fun unique experience and an adventure but it’s not for everyone. I think like you said it’s for a night or two not for long term. Thanks so much!!

When you say "Big enough", do you mean in terms of land, or attractions?! they don't have so much space since they got rid of all the land the other side of the lake... I feel like Merlin always look at what the big American parks are doing, go "Yeah we'll do that!" without breaking down why it works over there and how much investment it needs... so the UK version ends up done on the cheap, feels gimmicky and over-priced and unnecessary! Does Thorpe Park need a container-hotel? Or would they do better to have an official partnership with a local Premier Inn or Travelodge or something that offers perks like a free shuttle? The thought of being in that tiny cabin with two small over-excited children.... my head hurts just imagining it!

@balearicrob3 жыл бұрын
There is a joke around here that says the British summer is scheduled for a Tuesday this year, we just don’t know which one. We don’t have reliable weather sadly. I could bore you with the reasons why, Gulf Stream and all that. The UK is very temperate and variable. Start of June as I post this, a few days ago it was pouring with rain and about 10c/50f. Today, wall to wall sunshine and a good 24c/75f and temperature raising over next week, but week after schedule to drop down again. In Feb, we were having snowball fights one week, picnics the next. May, last year was glorious, this year it’s been awful, wettest I can remember. July and August are the hottest months generally (not guaranteed), but not necessarily the driest. 90f, even over 100f has been known. Come visit. We make up for the weather with good humour! 😊

There are loads of options in the UK Terry. As @superethused says Premier Inn is good for low cost overnight accommodation, we also have Travelodge. Many pubs have rooms and many people run B&Bs especially near attractions such as Theme Parks and holiday resorts. Plus Air B&B will put you in touch with rooms/homes for hire. Oh and a lot of places are doing camping pods now which are cute and a similar size to the shipping container Jackie stayed in.

@@blus00p Thankyou Beverly! My interest in going, is kind of a bucket list thing. I want to spend a couple months between England, Ireland, Scotland, and Germany. I'd also need a tour service because I don't think it would be safe to start driving on the left at my age.
@balearicrob3 жыл бұрын
@@terrynewell8968 If you don't like driving, the UK has one of the most comprehensive train systems in the world. All major cities are connected, but also many towns, villages, tourist attractions, airports etc. Many people coming to the UK get around this way. The only thing is it can be expensive to just turn up and buy a ticket on the day, it pays to plan and tickets are typically on sale about three months ahead of time for longer routes. Buy in advance and it's quite possible to get a three-hour train journey between London and another big city for under $35. You can also get rail cards, and maybe even visitor passes that give you discounts.
@blus00p3 жыл бұрын
@@balearicrob great advice! @terrynewell Because the UK is a relatively small island you could travel by train to most places within a day. If you work out where you want to go, most destinations will be connected by the trains, then you'd just need a taxi from the station to your final destination.
