The ship is the Zeila and was being towed to Europe for scrap metal about 5 years ago. Good to see it is usefull besides at ourist attraction. Magic video!

Southern Africa = the Southern region of the African continent( Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa). We had the cement boat here in Aptos CA. for almost 100 years. SS Palo Alto. Rammed stern on at Seacliff State beach. A pier built out to connect. Good winters, the sandbars would build up on both sides. The pier got destroyed this past winter and the boat rolled over and broke up. There still is something there left to create waves but will it ever be the same? Generations of local kids growing up here... the local spot.
