I'm so glad you shared this very comprehensive post/diary with us. All my friends and family in Florida had said they were safe and had minimal damage, so I didn't do any more research. This was the first I knew of all the tornadoes and the death and destruction they left behind. I'm glad y'all only lost the one tree, but hope you will quickly get one growing again. Renewing my prayers for the folks in Florida, thanks to you. Haven't watched the cruise videos yet, but plan to do so soon. Enjoyed seeing all your kids in this video. Still praying for what you asked us to, until I hear otherwise. God bless you all!

You had a great work crew, lived in Ft Lauderdale in the crazy 80’s (and I survived, barely). No big hurricanes one little one shook the shutters which I’d forgot to fasten. Did a great job videoing and preparing. Sad you lost the tree, lost a few in ice storms here in New England. Had a very tall mango and avocado while in Florida, difficult to pick the fruit squirrels were well fed, they could get them. Glad all is well at your house, hurricanes are one thing tornadoes much more scary as they arrive sometimes with very little warning. 🙏🏻

Thank you so much! I’m so proud of everyone. We were named Team Delos Santos many years ago because people really saw and valued the way we all worked together. My husband and I have spent years cultivating our family’s core values, starting first with honoring God above all. Little Bear and I had fun with the avocados! 🥑 🤣 Teamwork makes the dream work! That’s a great idea about brewing a pot of coffee. Now I need to buy a big thermos. That way, I can save my backpacking gas. I’m looking forward to watching Moringa 2.0 grow! 😊 Love and light to you, friend! 💙☀️🙏🏼

This was one adventure I was fine with just watching through my phone screen and didn’t want to be there in person! Thank you for filming and documenting it though, it was interesting to watch how you prepared, the storm roll in, and in a way, comforting to “be with you” during such a scary time. I am so very thankful there wasn’t more devastation. The Moringa tree is so fast growing you will have another in its place in no time! If for some reason, your cuttings or seeds don’t grow and you need some more, holler and I would happily send you some! I plant them as annuals here as they don’t survive the winter outside and are usually too tall for me to bring in the house to over winter them more than the first year. Wonderful and useful tree and worth having another!

Thank you. We’ve never documented any of the dozens of hurricanes we’ve experienced, so I thought it would be interesting to document it this time. I definitely prefer our other adventures over this one. 😂 And thank you for the offer on the Moringa tree! I ended up planting 6 cuttings and have saved some seeds as well. That’s a great idea to plant them as annuals so you can get a good harvest before they die out in the winter. It’s such a beneficial tree! We’ll see you in the next adventure. She had friends from St Pete's stay with her to get away from Milton. Fingers crossed that this is the last of the storms for this year.

Yeah, it really does suck. But, over 26 years of being together, we’ve experienced about a dozen hurricanes…only 1 of them we were together. And that was when I also worked at the police department with him. Otherwise, it’s mandatory that the whole police department be on station working rotating 12 hour shifts (A/B squads). It’s ok though. I’m used to it and it’s just a part of our lifestyle. He always makes sure we have everything we need before he leaves. Yeah, KZbin was a great resource to watch it all unfold live. I watched Mike’s Weather Page and Ryan Hall, Y’all. Good stuff! I’m glad you’re safe. I’m hoping we can close out the 2024 hurricane season!

Fort Pierce native here. Six lives lost in the Spanish Lakes community in Fort Pierce - and search and rescue continues. We weren’t home for this, but our boys and four grandchildren were. We’ve been vacationing in the Murphy NC area since the day Helene made landfall. (No damage here in Murphy). Needless to say, a big portion of this “vacation” has been quite stressful. We feel blessed and highly favored that our immediate family, extended family, loved ones and friends are all safe. Just yard debris and frayed nerves. Prayers for all those affected by both storms. Genuine question as I am trying to understand - why do you think God protected you but not those people in Port St Lucie?
@wildflowersadventuresАй бұрын
Hi there. I think that is a very valid and good question. Thank you for asking and being willing to discuss such a difficult topic. 💙 I wish that I had a quick answer for you that would make complete sense. But the truth is, I don’t know. 😔 And I don’t know if I have the capacity to fully understand right now. I have prayed for days on how best to answer this question, but the words available to me just don’t seem to get to the depth of this topic. Ultimately, I think we all have free will, and God has an ultimate plan. He works all things together for good, according to His purpose. And because He is omniscient, and we are not, a lot of things don’t seem to make sense to us. But that is where my faith comes in. I have come to a place in my relationship with God in that I have learned to trust Him fully. He has shown me is so many ways throughout my life that He is for me…that He loves me….that my ultimate trust in all things belong to Him. So while I don’t understand a lot of what happens in our world, I have a peace and comfort knowing that God has a plan. I try to view all things through the lens of eternity. As our life here on earth is so short in comparison to eternity, I trust fully in Him, knowing that when it is my time, I will be with Him, and my work here will be done. I envision walking through the gates of Heaven hearing, “Well done good and faithful servant.”
