Guys, I'm a scrapper, and I've found a ton of generators. Good motors, tapered shafts. An old timer yesterday gave me a tip: rather than machine or grind (Ike) the shaft down, just cut the last 3 inches off the armature shaft, below the windings. Shorten the bolt, attach that stub to the end of the crank, use red Loctite to "glue" the stub to the shaft, and bolt it on. You'll remove the bolt later to install a clutch. I'm gonna try it with my new 390cc Subaru Robin engine!

My Dingo I had when was like 12-13 was that size but came with big knobby tires and a Briggs and Stratton 8hp. I drove the crap out of that thing and had a blast every day! No suspension cause my roll cage to crack so me not wanting to stop or being a welder at 12, I just tore it off. Super sketchy obviously but what wasn't then?. Mine stock would light hose knobby's up in gravel and even break lose and do doughnuts on pavement. Man I miss it. It ended up seizing I thing bc it got even more tougher to start and finally stopped being able to pull start. I sold it but got a couple hundy still and put it toward a great running good shape older 70' Honda mini trail/street bike. It wasn't the z50 bc the tank was actually proportionate like a big bike to the seat and looked like a smaller full size. It had a 3 speed. Had 3 gears all down. instead of normally 1 down rest up, you shifted up to down shift. Weird. It had been repainted like a Chevy orange and had a blue pool liner for the seat cover lol. It ran very strong and lasted for several years. I bought it from my uncle that horse traded cars and trucks and whatever else and paid like $300 for it. After that he sold me a 90's Yamaha Razz scooter that I rode hard too and ended up later after a couple years of daily riding everywhere in the country and yards not starting one day. I think it was shot anyway. But anyhoo, glad I got this video yall. Brought back some of my favorite memories as a kid. Ive never seen anymore or anybody else on here with a Dingo. Oh yea I forgot about the Honda Odysee buggy kart too. It was like bigger and more hp than the Dingo. Have y'all ever seen one of those? Back in 80's prob I believe. Later guys.

and just like that, just by scooting the motor mount as far forward as possible, you made the dingo go from rear engine rear drive, to mid engine rear drive. for a vehicle to be considered mid engine, the engine itself has to be mounted somewhere between the front and rear axle at their center line.

dingo really could do with some doorbars. for safety. something between you and whatever you hit when you roll it because you're crazy like me and attached full suspension from an old quad and fabbed up a swaybar from some bent tubing with the ends pinched, welded, and reinforced to handle the bolt trying to turn a circle into an oval, and it does work well as a makeshift swaybar. note to self, next time shave the seam, and nest a pipe inside and weld the ends together first before bending and doing the swaybar linkage. it needs a stiffer bar, and a twin tube is tougher than just stright up thicker walls, funnily enough

Yall should really look in to getting some dust control products to apply to the track. They have polymer sprays that you mix into water and then spray using a hand or pull behind sprayer. Depending on the product you use, it can pretty much completely eliminate dust for years. There is also products made of some type of salt that works great also but i think it can be corrosive. Eliminating the dust would definitely help when filming laps on the track.

For whatever it's worth, if the lettering on the back of the seat are Roman numerals, that would equate to '9'. Similar to the super bowl number of what game is being played that year. Example: I=1, V=5, X=10, L=50, C=100, D=500, M=1,000. So 'IX' would equal 9.

great video guys, I've a story for you. 30 yrs ago I wound up with a dingo gocart and I think it was the same size as this one. anyway I extended the frame 2 ft behind the seat and installed a Honda 350 street bike engine and with a lot of tinkering got that sucker to do 75 mph on a dirt road. but take off was the best because it would throw rooster tails straight up as you left with the front tires 12 inches off the ground. that was a scary little cart. but I had a lot of fun out of it.
@BuzzLOLOL2 жыл бұрын
That Honda 350 should have been good for over a 100... especially since a low cart pushes less wind than an upright rider on a bike... In 1968 I scratch built a suspension minibike tightly around a Jawa 350cc 2 cycle 2 cylinder 4 speed tranny motorcycle engine... licensed it for street with title from Cushman scooter the engine had been on earlier...
@dwaynet21842 жыл бұрын
@@BuzzLOLOL no sir mine was an old 4 stroke 2 cylinder and small tires drastically reduce the top speed on any cart and it wasn't built for speed it was built to trail ride so in 1st gear it would climb without stalling . Anyway the 350 I used was very worn-out , so much so that I could start it with just my hand with no kickback . And the bike I took it off of was abandoned at a house I bought. Lots of parts stripped no speedo .
@BuzzLOLOL2 жыл бұрын
@@dwaynet2184 - You just change the overall gearing to compensate for small tires... and build with weight over rear tires for traction off road... a Honda 350 could climb about any hill in 1st gear... although the 350 Scramblers had less power than the street bikes... like 85 MPH vs 110 MPH... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_CB350
@dwaynet21842 жыл бұрын
@@BuzzLOLOL ok thanks but all I had was a Honda 350 sprocket 30 yrs ago and I wanted it to climb mountain 's where I lived at the time . Now I'm a retired mechanic that's does understand gearing and how to change it. I worked on high performance boats that did well over 100 mph and that's all gearing to get them up to speed. But thank you . If I had met you 30 yrs ago we would have had a lot of fun I'm sure.

@@dwaynet2184 - I left the Cushman sprocket/brake assembly on my minibike, but added a much smaller sprocket on the other side to get the gearing needed with minibike/scooter size tires... Person I bought the scooter from was into horses and scared by the 15 - 20 MPH top speed with the big Cushman sprocket, LOL! Plus it was a box style scooter body and with no cooling airflow, it would overheat and quit running after a couple minutes. I don't know who put that mess together to start with. I'm in N.W. why not just fab up a wrap aroun d plate thingy so the mount can be adjusted freely, but locked in place with like a tie end? it moves up and down by adjusting the tie rod, and the front has bolt holes running through an oval track to lock it in place and adjust it left to right? how adjustible do you need it to be?
