Hello Guys! Nice video! I have used real butterfly wings (ethically sourced of course from butterfly farms, after the butterfly has died naturally). I take and laminate the wings (so they are like the hard plastic ones you used here in this video). Then plate them between glass. They turn out really pretty!

I loved your video. I was wondering if you can do a video on making wire curls large and small for attacing some curly q's to different projects. I could really use the help. Thank you. I use 16 snd 14 gauge wire. I appreciate all the help i could get. Jo from Lords Valley, Pa.💜

Thanks, filigree used to be more common and you could get it from many sources. Now, it's more difficult to find.. but it's worth the effort! 😀😀😀

When I first started doing stained glass they made filigree lamp panels. I would cut my glass panels and add the filigree that would cover the cut panels or sometimes it would be scenes. Do they still make these larger panels and do you know where I can get them? I also would use copper sheets and make them myself but it was much nicer when you could just purchase the larger filigree and cut your glass panels.

It is much harder to find good filigree these days. I may do a second video about it.

What gauge wire did you use for your graceful looking filigree?
@GommStainedGlass3 жыл бұрын
We did some with 18 gauge and some with 22 gauge. Both worked well but the 18 gauge was easier to hold it's shape during the bend.

How do you know the metal isn't coated or it will take solder?
@GommStainedGlass2 жыл бұрын
I try it. Wire is often coated so it's hit and miss, punched out metals are usually plain metal so we can solder them
