I only regret that I have but one like to give this video. I love the five skill levels concept. Use it more. You might even make it 6 skill levels, too parallel 6 sides discs. Level 6 would be touring pro level.

Here’s a suggestion coming from a 70 year old throwing for 2 years. My bag is full of Dino Discs. I can shape shots with the best shots my grandkids (and kids) do. Buy a set not for your kids, but for your dad and get him out there throwing with you! I love playing with 3 generations!

Dino Discs have been a great addition for kids in my area. They give them so much confidence. Great video as always sir. 💪

I like the testing of discs for different skill levels, including kids. Light weight discs make a ton of sense for kids. Since im ~3x the size of my kids i imagine that throwing a max weight disc for them would feel like like a 500 gram disc would for me. Maybe the discs should also be smaller?

smaller could absolutely happen but no way the PDGA makes them legal(as if anyone cares what a 6 year old throws). would actually be much more useful because with circle physics a larger circle takes more energy to get rotate, smaller circle would make it easier for smaller arms

My 2 year old throws a very light, 30% smaller frisbee I got for free as swag. She can launch that thing but who knows what direction it's going to go! I think the disc should be equal to or smaller diameter than the throwers torso otherwise it's too hard to hold well.

I’m really excited yo see this, as I am part of the molding of these discs at ZING POLYMERS. I’m proud to be part of carrying on the ideals of Dan Pastore. Id be very interested in a similar video using the 165g-170g versions of these in the ABC lineup. Thanks for the video Sir!

For people that can throw 8 speed discs well but want a Distance Driver just because I recommend the Dino Discs Spinosaurus. It is very fun to throw and probably the most torque resistant Dino Disc out there. It flies slightly more stable than a Blizzard Teedevil for me but if there is even a little headwind it will not fade at all. I've had some friends throw it and be pretty surprised at how well it flies for them. Every other Dino Disc I've tried has become a roller if I full power it.

Great concept for the video the video, but I would take exception to the common wisdom that we often hear “light discs are easier to get up to speed”. This speed upgrade is a negligible effect vs the counterbalance of gravity and lift. The disc tends to turn right when it lifts. Lift is based on the geometry and speed on the disc (agree this is a somewhat based on faster speed due to lower weight) but the gravitational force is drastically reduced therefore the discs will “glide” through the air longer as well as get the net lifting effect that we associate with the classically pleasing disc golf line. The part about not going as far because it loses speed faster is correct I think for the same reason, because the drag has a higher impact on velocity due to reduced forward momentum (which scales with mass). Please keep making videos - I watch all of them and find them highly informative.

:-D "... miss one of the best things, watching a disc fly" - and the thrower then litteraly turns his back to the disc mid flight 😂🤣

I'm mediocre myself (honestly at 55 I don't think I'm going past my max 330ft)... I like giving advice... (ok years of IT Helpdesk and Field Support followed by years of machinery maintenance fairly much solidified a "Here let me show you how to do that a bit better"... I usually find the players most understable disk, get them to just stand sideways to the basket... think where that basket is but then forget about it until once the disk is thrown... Look straight ahead... bring the disk up to their neck... pull it back and forth like they were trying to cut their own neck... then form their back shoulder, pull it across their shoulders and open their hand as their arm straightens out at the basket.... There's a few bits of playing after that but that usually get them to throw a flat disk they can watch.. and not too 'Air Ball' I also found an easy way to explain disk numbers to noobs that can at least throw a disk, but all the u-toobs over complicate something that I found works wether your fore, back, left or right armed... same simple instruction for all throws.

I think the 14speed is sending the wrong message, that someone with such a low armspeed should even be throwing that, no matter what the weight. Some of their discs seem to be misguided, as it's not just about the weight. A midrange will have maximum float and lift at a beginner's armspeed, giving them the most distance. That smaller air-pocket underneath of a driver means less "float", and the sleeker less domey top means less lift at lower speeds, and very poor float and glide. Marketing seems to take precedence over quality advice here.

Some kids just need to find their own path. And you never know what they’re going to do. When he gets older he may never have anything to do with Disc Golf or he may end up playing every day. My dad wanted me to play ball golf, but I play Disc Golf.

I know it would be a nightmare, but i would love to see a video that looks at an ideal weight for a throw based on distance using a 175g disc as a baseline. If I throw a latitude 64 river 175g disc 200ft, what would be the ideal weight for me...kinda thing.

Neither is correct. It's di-PLOD-uh-cus. It's Greek for "two beams", so the di is a prefix.
