So glad you did this demo! I had this idea the first time I saw DTF done, but it was hard to find a video showing how to do the process on a stretched canvas. Thank you for showing 2 methods!

remove the canvas, press, film, press, peel, press, re staple. i make ans sell them, i do shows and make on the spot, all my canvas' are removed before the show people pick their print i have them in their hands in under 3 minutes. time is money this was a monstrosity to watch! bet his edges peel? you cant seal the dtf with the small press and get a good press. i HATE the hand presses/ only for tiny things like pocket logos!

I recommend sealing it with glossy Modge Podge. This makes it more vibrant and it lasts longer as well.

Great video, have you tried to apply a DTF transfer to 1/4" thick plywood? I would like to know if that is possible. Thanks
@DTFSuperstore8 ай бұрын
We have DTF'd on wood to great results, check it out on our channel. The thickness would just need to be addressed to the ability of the heat press, or using a no platen press like a cricut. Glad you enjoyed!

we were definitely going for the full Bob Ross PBS vibes here...I should really have more shirt colors than just black. We'll see if I can branch out of my monochromatic shirt colors! Glad you liked the video!

Any chance you have done or will do a video to see if you can piece together dtf sheets to make a canvas picture that is larger than your machine will print?
@DTFSuperstore Жыл бұрын
Interesting...we've not done that yet. It's really hard to line up the edges and not see a seam. We'll have to see if theres some way to midigate the seams.
@sandradowell9666 Жыл бұрын
I am going to try and do the print overlapped and see if I can trim and line up, I will let you know how it goes!

It is not necessary to use cadlink doing it the way you are!.. You can use photoshop to make any image changes like vibrancy or saturation or contrast and other settings.

What about canvas bags that have been waxed? Will the heat melt the wax and ruin the transfer and/or bag?
@DTFSuperstore7 ай бұрын
It really depends. Coatings can make pressing DTF transfers tricky so I would recommend testing with a specific product before you commit to making them.

Do you have to seal DTF once put on canvas with acrylic sealer?

no need to.

What type of canvas did you use? Is the canvas coated with Gesso? THanks PS is the canvas 100% cotten
@DTFSuperstore11 ай бұрын
just bought a set of blank canvases on Amazon, not sure about the specifics on it. It should work even with Gesson on it.

Did you apply gesso on our canvas?
@DTFSuperstore Жыл бұрын
I believe the canvas came pre-primed. We did not apply gesso to it.

Use polyester fabric for that, sub then press. Staple it to the canvas. Work smarter than harder.

It's a suggestion. Most people have converted an inkjet for sublimation.@@DTFSuperstore

can you dtf on a blank flag

Probably... it would depend on the fabric and the sizing might be a little hard but doable.

OMG i make DTF canvas - - - get a staple remover and take the canvas off, press it flat, press your film, cool, peel, press to seal, let cool, re staple to frame! SO MUCH EASIER i could not even watch this disaster unfold, made me anxious watching you take SO LONG when it takes 2 mins. dang dude, this is work SMARTER not HARDER! you're not married are you! a woman would not have let you do this!
@DTFSuperstore5 ай бұрын
If you watched the whole video we also showed removing it from the frame. We like to leave no stone unturned regardless of how painful that test might be and share our experiences. Yes, removing the canvas and then stapling it back to the frame is the best way.

Use a heat blower gun instead of a iron on the corners
@DTFSuperstore Жыл бұрын
interesting, you still need to put pressure on it to help it adhere to the canvas...how do you do that with a heat gun?
