I had A7Cii, it's better in almost every respect except for colors. Sony colors are the worst among every major brand. Before anybody jumps in, I always shoot raw, I have DXO and LR, I used C1 but dumped it because it offers no advantages, but the workflow is much slower. Bottom line, I know how to process images, I have good eye when it comes to colors. I can get wonderful images from Nikon and Fuji. I hate all those unnatural preset, they are tasteless, I want rich pleasant looking colors, without orange and green tints like Sony often produces. And, of course, I know about Cobalt, and, of course, I have color checker, and, of course, I know how create DNG profiles, and it may help a bit, but in the end comparing results from Sony and other cameras, I just say, *don't fight the camera colors, get the camera that satisfies your taste.*

I had the X100VI for a few months before I gave up and sold it. The a6700 is just a better camera if you prioritize a high rate of good photos over the shooting experience. The X100VI is masturbatory, it looks nice and the knobs are fun to fidget with but in the end you're not getting a lot done.

I own an A7IV and, for about a month now, a Fuji X100VI. I brought both on a week-long trip to NYC. For the first three days, I had both cameras (the Sony with the 16-35 GM II) with me all day. On the other days, I left my Sony in the hotel room, saved weight, and had so much fun shooting. Don’t get me wrong: if I had brought only the Fuji, I would have missed 3 or 4 really decent wide-angle shots. But all in all, I shot around 100 photos with the Sony and about 1000 with the Fuji. So next time, I would only bring the Fuji.

I have both. been using the a7cii much more lately. tweaked a few of the creative looks it has and the jpegs come out really nice. i prefer to stay as far away from lightroom as much as possible so SOOC jpegs is important. the a7cii with a vintage 50mm lens produces great images IMO. with that said, i'll take the x100vi if weight/size is a factor such as hiking or to concerts. I much enjoy the x100vi SOOC video image. I use a 'recipe' that Reggie posted on his channel for no color grading videos. Shot a video of my friends and I on a hike and the colors were amazing.

They are both great but they are for different use cases. The x100vI is great if you don’t need a lot of focal length versatility but want a great edc option with built in flash and nd filter. The a7c series can also be that albeit without the built in flash and nd but can also be fitted with any focal length lens. I think the x100vI is a great companion camera to any interchangeable lens camera. If you are just starting out I would recommend the a7c series or even the a6700 because of the ability to change glass. I own the x100vI and an a7c and love both. I don’t agree that the ovf on the x100vI is gimmicky. It provides a very unique shooting experience. I also don’t have any issues with the f/2 lens. If autofocus and tack sharpness is your goal then Sony all day. I bought the a7c and then got the Fujifilm x100v hype fever and started to think that I needed it. 3 Fujifilm cameras later I realized that they are all just cameras. No camera is magically going to make Everything perfect. They are great and fun cameras to use but I think the expectations have become so big that certain people feel let down when their photography is still trash after getting an x100vI.

I have an A7C II and recently got the chance to try out an X100VI. What can I say... as someone who also shoots film I was surprised by how little I liked the Fujifilm. I think it’s pretty bad ergonomically, AF seemed to screw me over quite a few times, the dials on the top look pretty but are impractical, and I didn’t even enjoy the optical viewfinder as much as I thought I would. Though the combination of optical viewfinder and HUD is really, really well done. Finally, I just completely missed feedback on whether I was taking a photo or not! The shutter is really quiet and causes minmal vibration in the camera body, and also the shutter button doesn’t have a very hard stop. So I was really unsure of when I had and hadn’t taken a picture. So weird. I love shooting on my A7C II, and I love shooting on vintage film cameras. But somehow I didn’t love shooting on the X100VI. But everyone’s different and the X100 series has a huge fan base, so my opinion really is just my opinion, and overall, I’m glad there is so much variety out there! =),

X100VI now it’s really an hybrid camera. Autofocus? Is good, you should disable the tracking eye and use the dot instead. If I need a perfect autofocus, for sure choose Sony. But nothing is like Fuji and the recipes. I don’t need to edit my files, the same for the video. I love the tone, the color . And I also find very useful the ND filter embedded in camera. After years of using only fuji cameras (xt-1, xt-2, xe-2, x100v, X-H2S) and while waiting on the x100vi that was backordered, i took a jump and got an a7cii to see what the hype is all about with the autofocus and g master lens, mostly for video. I can say i was so mind blown by the easy of use the a7cii integrates wirelessly to the dji gimbal, and the dji mic 2 with the wireless adapter, it makes for such a compact hassle free, set up. I still use my xh2s as a b camera thought. The autofocus is not comparable at all, using both for a fashion show photoshoot, the sony had about 90% success rate on the runway, while the fuji 60% in action. I think if seen as tools, they are good in their own departement and can be great options to pair up. The 100v is incredible for daily pictures and light travel. I cant wait for fujifilm's updates to roll out, in the meantime, i can say i am happy with both Sony and Fuji cameras.

Great timing for this video! I have the X100VI and am very disappointed with the image quality. The idea that it is a 40MP is a marketing lark. It is at best a 24MP camera equivalent. I have tested it against my 6 yr old Canon M50 and it barely equals it in regards to image resolution. So I have been looking to replace it with the A7Cii, but not being able to get my hands on one, for a test, had me wondering. So your video is greatly appreciated! Funny, I was going to just purchase an A7Cii during Black Friday sales, but that camera never went on sale!! IMHO Fuji blew it buy putting an old and tired lens in front of a 40MP sensor. The camera is way too expensive to have such poor sensor / lens performance. Fuji is getting away with it because form over function, e.g. the fascination with film simulations (yawn...), seems to have captured a lot of folks. At least I will be able to sell my X100VI for more that I purchased it for! What would be better is if Panasonic could fit their Lumix S5ii into a form factor like the A7Cii -- that would then be the best compact hybrid camera possible.
