Wow! Your forehand has really improved. In the past, it looked herky jerky. Now it looks really smooth. Congrats.

I sometimes wonder how these players would do if they'd adapt to some more powerful frames. Some of these frames really seems almost like an handicap even if you play on the tour.
@RogerPham10 ай бұрын
I suppose more control would always be the trend for the atp tour. They can generate lots of power from hitting the sweet spot all the time and proper techniques.

A few weeks ago Khachanov played with h22 at AO, I can’t send the link here, but that’s for sure.
@Tennisnerd10 ай бұрын
From what I heard recently, he seems to have been on and off the H22. This came from him but could have been a test racquet with his specs. You can send a link via Instagram if you have that.

Would be cool to hear some interviews with people from raquet manufacturers who design, cooperate with the pro players etc!

Agree, trying my best to get some people on the podcast, but it's a little "hush-hush" these things.

it always seems the same when people play with pro setups.. no one is ever 'this is amazing and i am going to copy it'. makes you realise, i think all players tweak their racquets to their own physical/talent limitations, and the actual feel of it is secondary. they've add weight here and there, and gotten very used to a particular racquet that they find.. puts the ball where they want it the most often with the least amount of error. it's easier to change racquet specs than personal technique, basically.

I can’t find I single picture of him playing with the blade. All images are of h22s including every image I checked from this year with the new paint job. I don’t think he ever switched, so if that is a racquet that he used, he didn’t use it for long, and doesn’t seem that he used it in competition.

Stock Blade's stability is above average. How come this weighted one can become wobbly?

Is there any difference between the H22 and the Blade Pro? Or is it simply that the Blade Pro is weighted to a particular retail spec and the H22 is more "naked" unless it has been spec'd for a particular player?
@Mewborne8910 ай бұрын
The difference is in the layup. The H22 is much softer and has a higher quality material in it. The Blade Pro is stiffer and not as plush. The Blade Pro has more power too. If you search KZbin, there are a couple of videos comparing the two.

Makes sense his racket would have a low launch angle. His grip is so extreme that he hits massive topspin without any help from the racket. If he switched to a spin focused racket he would have trouble keeping the ball in the arena. I don't know how Jack Sock ever kept a single ball inside lines with his grip. But all those guys' physiques and ability are so outside the norm (the rest of us human beings), they can make it work.
@Jingoa10 ай бұрын
While western grips are good at generating spin, you absolutely can hit through the ball just fine. Both Sinner and Djokovic have near-western grips and they use those for both spin and driving balls. You just have to adjust the contact point forwards. Some of the heaviest recorded spin has come from Nadal (semi-western) and Federer (eastern), even though they have less extreme grips.
@TennisSkunkworks10 ай бұрын
@@Jingoa i think Khachanov has a more extreme western than the other guys.
