In this crazy video, I am fishing at an urban creek with a few pals....
It ends up being somewhat of a slow day, with only one catfish for the entire morning. Eventually I have something pick up my bait, and it ends up being WAY bigger than any of us could have dreamed!
CHECK OUT LIAM HERE: ‪@AnimalBro‬
KastKing gear caught this fish, and I cant recommend it highly enough...
This fish was caught on a KastKing Mag Swimbait Rod:- kast.vip/kttXG
and the Kastking Kapstan 300 reel -

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR WATCHING, PLEASE LIKE, COMMENT, AND SUBSCRIBE!

That was *AWESOME!!!* I 💖 "catch and release." It is my favorite way to fish. I enjoy the actual catch and landing of the fish, but I will NOT take the life of a living being that I have absolutely NO intention of using it to feed myself or my family. However, I do love the actual sport of fishing. 🎣 I will on occasion keep a fish, or sometimes, I have been known to give them away to tourists who visit this area, so that they can enjoy fresh fish while visiting our coastal area. I am so very blessed to live in an area that is abundant with wildlife and lush green forests. I live in a "subtropical" rainforest, which means that we are anything but tropical. lol!! We have lots of rain here, but that is what keeps our forests lush and green!! They are not deliberately aggressive, but those teeth are definitely a hazard, especially when they are flailing like this one did. When I was a kid we found one 'beached' on a farm-to-market road - creek flooded the road due to days of spring thunderstorms/rain. He/she was very calm as we gently nudged it toward the rushing water with our feet until it was finally able to swim away. It was the first one I had ever seen, and was huge (but half the size of this one!), and I have been fascinated by them, since. The alligator gar and snapping turtle are from the dinosaur age. 🙂

Great vid, nice catch! You should bring a garbage bag with you next time. Pick up some garbage laying around. Just one bag. May not be your mess, but it’s a noble chore to clean up the waterways. Food for thought.

Right on Ty! You using food that was intended for you because you had no bait reminds me of a time we ate the food intended for them because we caught no fish..we threw a big river rock into our fire and cooked the liver on it.

It was beef that night cause we couldn't find chicken. But my mom once made me chicken liver and onions and it was pretty good..more tender than beef.

I used to fish the "blue water" for yellow, blue & big eye tuna and did some shark fishing, marlin, sails, mahi & swords, too- but WOW...this crick side catch & release video was talmost as cool to watch as it was to catch!! I felt like I was right there on the bank with you guys!! I loved the handoff and the ensuing wrestlemania! What a heart warmer & thriller all-in-one! Thanks for this FANTASTIC video!

Hi Ty, great channel, I really enjoy watchingyour videos. Im in Australia. We have to be very careful not to get spiked by our more common catfish species as they have a venom that is extremely painful (I know from experience how much it hurts!). Do you have similar issues with catfish species over there, or are they all easy and safe to handle?
@TyPigPatrol
@TyPigPatrol 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Yak! Thanks for watching, our freshwater catfish over here are on the low end of dangerous, getting spined may hurt but it is not anything to really worry about. HOwever, we have some saltwater catfish on the coast that do require some serious attention if you are stung by one of them.

I’d love to go to Texas and fish for alligator gar. Maybe I can next year. Awesome video as usual. The best I was able to do was catch 17 trout in about two hours a couple days ago. A guy fishing about 40 yards from me was having no luck. So, I decided to switch spots with him. I continued to catch and he continued to struggle. I let him use the lure I was using, he continued to struggle. He called me the fish wizard.

The alligator gar is the oldest known fish that are still alive. It is called an ancient fish. Extremely rare and only found in lakes. That particular fish was approximately 70 years old for every foot of Length beyond that add 10 years. Thank you for respecting that old lady and treating her with gentleness. They are protected and they are truly an amazing combination of prehistoric alligator and fish.
