We thought it would NEVER happen...

After months of waiting we finally got an answer about our barn build permit! We welcome 18 new farm animals to the homestead & contemplate how to solve a problem in the bathroom renovation!

Sorry for your loss, Joyce. It is so hard to lose our long-time spouse. My husband passed away 3 years ago this week. We had been married almost 32 years. He had been sick for 10 years, until cancer took him away. Not only was he my husband, he was also my best friend. I do miss him dearly, but I am slowly adjusting to life alone, and I am grateful that he is no longer in pain nor suffering. I am learning new things and getting to know myself as an individual. There are thread kits for adding threaded ends to metal rods. Hardware store should have what you need, or a local metal shop could do the work for you.

Yes to curtain higher. You need a proper macrame sling or something similar for the hanging plant. New animals are so sweet and sound so sweet too. Squeeeeeek. YAAAAY PERMIT

From my earliest memories, the sounds that baby ducks and chickens make has been one of my few wonderful childhood memories, My childhood was very traumatic. So hearing and seeing your babies melts my heart! As to the news of your Barn Build, I’m so glad that the approval process is coming along. I do have to say that I am impressed that NS and all of Canada’s Provinces having laws in place to prevent mass buildings and major corporations coming in and destroying valuable, pristine land. I also have to say, you and your family’s boundless energy is inspiring! I am in so much love with your bathroom! When you show the before and after pics it is seriously like night and day! I don’t know much about the solution to the ceiling to shower apparatus rod that has engineered screw ends. It would be so cool to keep the ends intact and cut the center to shorten it and ‘WELD” it. BUT that sounds like more work than your original plan. I definitely agree that the shower curtain surround needs to be elevated. It will be more AESTHETICALLY pleasing. Lifting it will ‘lift’ the height of your ceiling… Giving the illusion of a high ceiling. Thank you for sharing everything with us! B~}

So smart to have storage for hay and animals(horse) separate from each other. Hay in the spring/summer can ignite easily if not dried correctly. Agree on the curtain rod being higher. Love your videos and family.

I agree with you that raising the shower curtain will make it more stately. I wouldn't even be afraid to go almost to the ceiling, because the higher it is, the grander it will look. I agree, the upper window molding competes... If it bothers you, gi for it! You can get a threading tool to rethread the ends. I know that if you get a rod cut at a hardware store, they will thread it. Maybe you could bring it down to your local store and ask. 🐥🥰 So many fluffballs! We have 4 little peepers in our living room! It's good that you can enjoy the babies before jumping into the barn build. They are your in-between project.😊

If you really want to cut the hanging rod, you can check locally for a machinist or machine shop to get them to thread the end you cut.

You'll love your Buff Orphingtons. They get huge and because of their size, they will lay all year round. We are up by Canada and it gets very cold here. We researched laying Hens and Buffs were our number one recommendation.
