The fact that Oscar is joining you and physically experiencing this is brilliant. it's so much better than reading it in a book or just seeing it in a documentary. Childrens brains soak so much up. By being able to actually experience it, it sticks more. We didn't realise how much until over hearing my grandaughter talking to her boyfriend about where she's been and what she's been able to experience . We had a horrid Viator experience going from Rome to Pompeii. Late bus, too long in Positano, only 45 min in Pompeii...jammed in the back of a tiny replacement bus with no window to look out...when I got home, it was my full time mission and took me about 2 months, but I finally was refunding 1/2 of our cost. Absolutely incredible! I was in Mumbai just about a year ago, and while it was not through a cruise, I did encounter some of the worst traffic I’ve ever seen. I would absolutely NEVER do a tour without a guarantee to get back on the ship if I did visit via cruise. On the day of my local tour, my guides were over 1 hr late because a politician was traveling and they’d blocked off all the roads. On my final day, we were in traffic for over 3 hrs on what should have been a 20 min journey. I think David nailed it when he described Mumbai as so overwhelming at times that it’s hard to take anything in. The hanging gardens and the shoe was one of my favorite parts too, even though it was dark when I went. Love to see Oscar rocking the nail polish. Thanks for the head’s up about all the lines to wait in for getting in and out of India, that’s good to know on a cruise like that one with such a unique itinerary!

The chaos is only in certain regions. You go to downtown Bombay, Marine Drive, South Mumbai, Bandra your mouth will be open wide to see the insane development, wealth. And even in this video most of the locals are middle class working people going to offices. It's like Taiwan in 1980s. There are so many shops and businesses by the street, medicine shops. All these are pointing to India's economic growth.

I’ve had the same issue with VIATOR in Morocco. They changed the time to three hours later and we already had a dinner reservations at this restaurant that was top of our list.. they refused to refund. I’ve heard the same sort of stories, but more like, tour operator didn’t confirm till 1 hours before the tour after multiple follow ups and then expect people to not make other plans, then refuse to refund.

Well done Ben on your weight loss, I am trying to but it is not easy. My sister and I recently sailed on a magnificent cruise ship, however 5,500 passengers and 2,500 crew meant it took over an hour just to get off the ship, then the line for taxis etc. took at least another hour or more. I have severe arthritis in the spine so cannot stand for a long period and this ship had no priority for disabled passengers (a complaint has been made). There were queue jumpers that the staff could not control .... so it appears the ships are ready for more passengers but the staff are not trained to handle them. We missed getting off at some ports because I could not stand for long enough to disembark. This will not stop us from cruising but we will be using smaller cruise ships (until they no longer exist!!!). The cabin crew, casino crew and the restaurant crew were outstanding. Best wishes Beth

We took Anthem to Norway this past summer and LOVED it! It was our first RC cruise and my parents first cruise EVER! Anthem worked her magic and all 3 generations had a great time and we can't wait to go back ❤.

We, too, had a terrible experience with Viator in Paris. We had booked a MORNING tour of the Louvre months before our trip. The day came for our tour, and no tour guide. It turned out that they had canceled our tour due to problems with access to the Louvre a few days before the Olympics, but they could have let us know beforehand, so we could make other arrangements. At that point, the only tickets we could reserve for general admission was late in the day, and they were rapidly closing everything off before we could even get in, and soon after we were in, they were ushering us out. We were only in Paris for two days and this was our last day. Such a disappointment! I'm glad you guys had another option to make your day in Mumbai a good one!

It was nice to meet all of you on Anthem. I agree, calling boarding as well as debarking "Chaos" is being kind, very, very kind! we've not dealt with anything like it on any cruise, anywhere, anytime. We also found that it was more difficult getting into and out of India than going into The White House or Buckingham Palace. A brave family you are for eating "on the streets of Mumbai". My brother worked there for years and would never do that. Have traveled to India myself, never had a problem with the food and yes, it is something of country to see. Huge and chaotic. I think that this episode is one of the best ones. No intent to be distasteful, but my experience with curry has been surprising. I enjoyed the food with its unique Indian spices, but learned I must be within a one-minute dash to a restroom. No idea why. I eat bowls of hot salsa and foods loaded with hot peppers, but strangely, Indian spices treat me unfairly.

All places in India don't have dirty street food. That's a stereotype. Look at Northwestern Himalayan regions of India like Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Northeast India, far South India. They are extremely clean.

I remember on your transatlantic sailing on Symphony you weren’t super impressed with the food. I went on Symphony in June and the Mexican menu was exactly the same that you had here - those corn cakes and the poblano soup were really good! US$200 per day per person in a city where you can hire an 8 seater car with driver and a guide for less than US$150 in total. Never ceases to amaze me how much cruise ship passengers are ripped off.
