WE TOOK OFF IN THE WORST WEATHER CONDITIONS | IFR OXFORD TO SHOREHAM

In this video, I'm going to be bringing you along for an IFR flight from Oxford to Shoreham as part of my MEIR training.
I am currently doing my flying training to achieve my dream of becoming a commercial pilot and in this video, I will be taking you along to see what I get up to on one of my flights on the twin-engine aircraft. In this video, we took off with only 800m RVR and it was overcast at 300ft AGL. Despite the poor conditions, we took off and got above the clouds for what ended up being a very enjoyable flight down to Shoreham.

Knock Airport (Connaught Ireland West Airport) is located on a hill and weather west of the River Shannon can turn to IMC in an instant, so having an IFR rating is vital in Irish airspace

Question Oli ( and congrats to your new position by the way) ...during the IFR training, as you climbed to your cruise...is that done manual flying or AP is allowed/advised to use?

It depends who your examiner/instructor is. But you can do both.

Very nice bit of flying... I'm currently aiming for the modular route to go commercial too, currently doing my IR(R) as a stepping stone while building those 150hrs PIC. Converting to a complex type (piper arrow) too. Your flights give me some insight in to what I need to expect and plan for. Landed in Shoreham a few times including my Q-XC but never flown in to Oxford. What school did you decide to do your MEP and MEP-IR with? Thanks for the videos.
