You guys are awesome. For most of us… our concept of epic is finding parking in a mall the day before Christmas. For you… hauling horses on a raft, in the middle of the Pacific, for 11 hours, after several attempts. Spectacular…!

I have sailed a little and have trained and dealt with many horses for over 35 years but have never seen towed behind a sailboat for 40 nautical miles on a "converted" pontoon boat. What an incredible adventure. Congratulations on getting them to their new home!

Shoo. Hope all your friends and animals are okay. Glad those 2 got further away from the volcano. Where did the cats go? Also, I can't quit thinking about how lucky you are. Your parents have really set up a fantastic start to life for you. You experience more than most humans. A life people dream about. ❤️

Fantastic! My brother was a farmer and one time his cows fell down a cliff onto an is isolated beach in wales. He somehow got a raft and rescued them with a sea journey - tame dairy cows. We had horses and yachts and sailed through the Pacific ( not with horses). -i feel sympathy for you because of the tsunami - good time to be away! Thanks liz

I held my breath this entire episode. Unbelievable. Bet those horses would choose the smooth raft ride over the crane rides if they had a choice. Super glad it worked out!

I know how hard it can be to let your horses go. They become a part of you. I just rehomed my last 4. All of them went to become therapy horses at a mental health facility. They will be loved on by kids for the rest of their lives. I got my first pictures of their interactions with kids. They were painted during a Halloween party for troubled youth. It almost made me cry. They looked so content with all the children smiling around them. I have sold my log cabin and my monohull. I am getting ready to purchase a catamaran to start sailing the world in.

How did they get there to begin with? This is a sad story that shows the horrific life that pet quality horses have, no matter what Country they’re in, they’re subjected to all sorts of things that “don’t work”, (because they’re not rational to begin with) and end up injuring both the horses and those trying to help or save them. I’m glad that they’re off the island and no longer in danger of being the “Entree’” for the natives, who probably think we’re all crazy since they likely look at it like we look at a Turkey for Thanksgiving. Will the mares be any safer, now that the geldings aren’t there? Update if you can, on them please.
Great adventure. Really enjoyed the Bloopers at the end.
