Prior to going down the bourbon rabbit hole I would usually drink the regular Crown Royal offering. Now after having tasted really flavorful whiskies I don't think I could ever go back. Perhaps if CR would come out with a reasonably-priced cask strength like their peers over at Alberta Premium. Trenton is absolutely on track with his liking of Alberta Premium cask strength rye. Oh sooo tasty ! I know Trenton said that he purchased like a case of this juice. After my original purchase and tasting I had to trade an Eagle Rare to a fellow whiskey Tuber to put another bottle on my shelf . Great content fellas Dana So-Cal

hi guys, i’m from Montreal & i’ve been following your channel for 2 or so yrs.,… great channel, Trenton is humorous & funny. Canadian whisky has to be aged a minimum of 3 yrs., & bottled at a minimum of 40 ABV. Yes their northern harvest rye is very good, & Lot 40 is excellent. The Glenora distillery in Cape Breton Halifax ( east coast), was the 1st. distillery in North america to make a single malt ( Glen Breton 10yr. old), & it’s a great whisky very much in the Scotch tradition… don’t know if you can get it in America. Also BC ( west coast) has a couple of distilleries producing great Canadian single malts as well. One to note is Macalony. Keep up the great work!

the peach and apple go well with pretty much any kind of flavored sparkling water you can find. Maybe a citrus flavour (orange, lemon, lime, grapefruit) to balance out the intense sweetness of the peach. Its alright straight too but I find its not very nice for more than a few sips cause of the sugar.

The only Canadian whiskies I have on my shelf is Shelter Point - Smokey Point, Lot 40 Canadian Rye, Forty Creek - Confederation Oak, Macaloney's - The Peat Project. They are all decent whiskies. Eagle Rare from Wild Turkey has won two years as Best Non-malt Whisky. So I bought a bottle as it is only $65 cdn. and can I say disappointed any louder? On the nose, palate and finish, all I get is perfume and sweet smelling flowers. It does have decent mouth feel. One I've seen a couple times (once at a place in north-central Indiana and once at the Carmel Total Wine) is their single barrel program, "Hand Selected Barrel". I think it's the Harvest Rye (some kind of rye at least), but they release it at >100 proof. Comes in a white box. That little bit of extra proof really brings it to life. It is the most intensely vanilla smelling whiskey I've ever tried, and it still has that Canadian-y pleasantness to it. Somewhere a little north of $50/$60 for a bottle and well worth it.

Hi Gentlemen, Canadian whiskey is considered neat, allowing 9.09% of other mixed into the blend. That explains why you taste younger aged rye mixed in. Crown Royal is a base level of whiskey in Canada 🇨🇦. If you want to try more premium Canadian whiskey, I recommend Canadian Club Chronicles Series aged 41-45 years...Much more complex, and a finesse style on the palette. Alberta Premium Cask Strength or Great Plains aged 18 years is significantly more enjoyable. Cheers, Jor-El
@rangervapes5715 ай бұрын
These regulations state that whisky must "be mashed, distilled and aged in Canada", "be aged in small wood vessels for not less than three years", "contain not less than 40 per cent alcohol by volume" and "may contain caramel and flavouring". Within these parameters Canadian whiskies can vary considerably, especially with the allowance of "flavouring"-though the additional requirement that they "possess the aroma, taste and character generally attributed to Canadian whisky" can act as a limiting factor. As the regulations do not limit the specific type of wood that must be used, a variety of flavours can be achieved by blending whiskies aged in different types of barrels. In addition to new wood barrels, charred or uncharred, flavour can be added by aging whiskies in previously used bourbon or fortified wine barrels for different lengths of time.
