@@garypena8260 Are you asking why do I want to stop using so much waste? If that, two reasons. One, just from a selfish reason, I want to save money and I get tired of constantly buying things that get later thrown out, or buying food that goes bad because I got too much of it. For example, nowadays I carry around a bottle that I fill with water; I pretty much never buy water bottles any more. Plus, it just gets annoying to constantly be throwing away packaging or piling up plastic bags. The fewer times I have to take out the garbage, the happier lazy me feels! From a conservation standpoint, I want to do my part in keeping as much out of the landfill as possible, and reduce the amount of energy being used to make packaging/other things I don't really need. I realize what I'm doing pales in comparison to what big corporations do, but perhaps if I vote with my dollars (or lack thereof) the big corporations will get the message conservation matters. I'm not the greatest word-smith out there, but hopefully that answered your question. Please have a good day!

I love these zero waste videos!! It has inspired me so much! I have a 6 month old baby and I’ve been doing cloth diapers for 4 months now along with elimination communication. I’ve pretty much been using a reusable cup and straw every time I go out now and I’m going to start a compost bin this month! Very excited and probably will make a video about it.

Reusable straws are great- I do still think we should have *some* straws on hand though. For example, I'm disabled. I shake a lot, and straws are a good solution that keeps me from being doused in every drink I get. But you could easily make a straw that biodegrades once chucked away. I say this because not everyone will get the washable straws, and those that do will forget them.

Just so everyone is aware there is a huge difference between food waste and wasting food. Throwing out food because you didn't eat it is NOT good for the environment as it increases demand that it doesn't need too. Things like onion skins and the like are obviously not an issue. But wasting things, ie not using it when you could have/should have, is unnecessary and bad for the planet!

twenty years ago in Czech republic and Slovakia was VERY popular to make drinking glasses from mustard glasses grought in stores. It was quality glass, thick and diamond shaped ormanent all around and just the perfect size to drink from, even for kids. EVERYBODY had to had set of these glasses! :D Grandmothers still have it at home and its perfectly nostalgic when you open the kitchen drawer and you find these :) brings out childhood memories... Now they make similar glasses... but for the hipster comunity purposes... you know what I mean? to "make yourself look cool and hipster and vintage" ... :(
