We Tried Traditional Croatian Food | Black Squid Ink Risotto!

We are off exploring the Dalmatian Coast here in Croatia and after 3 visits we have finally found some good Croatian food...never thought id try Black Squid Ink Risotto!

Visit a normal place and the culture is so diverse in my town people with tractors 60 yr old drunkards 15 year old that smoke and shops so diverse😂😂😂😂

Oh I am loving this, I used to go sailing with my family and I recognize the bay and bakery on Mljet island! We also used to go for cocktails on the Korčula fortress when I was a teenager, I always attempted to convince my mom to allow me to order a malibu coke! I also recognize the "remote place" - Ščedro - the opposite of Hvar island! I am so jealous! :) :) I really hope you are enjoying Croatia, it is amazing! And hopefully, you will stop by in Slovenia (my home country) again since it is close :) Cheers!

I was bummed that I never made it to Croatia this year. I went to Italy instead. Next year I am definitely headed that way! And back to Slovenia which became my favorite country this summer.

If you loved Slovenia you will love Croatia even more, Hit up these places for the time of your life, Rovinj, Motovun, Groznjan, Opatilja, Mali Losinj, Plitvice lakes and Rastoke waterfall town. Sibenik, town of Betina on Island Murter , Primosten, Split, Hvar, Pucisca, Komiza on the islands off the coast of Split and Makarska and of course Dubrovnik. Do this ideally in first three weeks of July but when warm but before all locals go on holidays and gets the most crowded. Google them in images

Generations of us grew up on Domacice(pronounced - "Domachitse"), Cokolino, Ledo ice-creams, Bajadera and Cedevita :) It's a shame most people just visit the coast because the continental parts like Zagreb, Samobor, Osijek, Varazdin etc. have a completely different cuisine but it's just as delicious. Things like Zagrebacki steak, wild game stew, river fish plates, Kulen sausages, home made bacon, pork/lamb grilled on a spike, black pudding with mashed potatoes and cabbage, fresh cheese and palenta etc. For dessert - Kremsnite or Samsnite from Samobor, Rum balls, Cupavci and loads of other cakes. To drink - white wines, craft stout beer, tens of different home-made Rakija flavours(especially the honey ones)... You'll have loads of material, trust me :)

Croatia is amazing. You have done the sail trip route that a lot of people cover. There are so many hidden treasures in Croatia. Google these and make sure to visit them. Town of Betina on the Island of Murter. The Kormati archipelago off the island of Murter. Sibenik town, Primosten, Makarska Riviera, Zadar, Rastoke town on waterfalls near the famous Plitvice Lakes, Zagorje region outside Zagreb, Varazdin, islands of Losinj, Cres and Krka , Opatilja and Rovinj towns and last but not least Groznjan and Motovun hilltop towns. Be sure to google them

Korcula is Birth place of Marco Polo, nothing supposively about that dear lady.He was born and raised there , he was on silk road all the way to China making discoveries.Came home , told everyone about his discoveries and adventures.For being so nice and kind sharing stories, locals thought he was exaggerating and crazy, so they threw him in jail for few years.Fun fact :)
