My I didn't realise Hunter was so young I knew he is still at school but I assumed it was sixth form or whatever you call the pre university years in USA. I think it is great that he is so involved and rebuilding his own Bronco, it looks a beast. He obviously has a wonderful opportunity of working in C&C if he wants to when he finishes full time education. Good luck to him. he is very lucky having you for a father and that you teach him so much.

on fuel tanks, my friend said he was on the course, and it was mentioned that the inventor of Barbie dolls also invented a lining for fuel cells that would let water collect into it and then run to a low spot. I'm not sure if the invention ever went anywhere, but it would be some handy.

Here is a trick I have used in the past to remove broken bolts. Before you weld on the nut, drill a 1/4 inch hole in the end of the broken bolt about 1/4 inch deep. Take an air hammer/air chisel with a round tapered punch on the end. Place the tip of the punch into the hole you drilled and hammer the piss out of it for at least 30 seconds. A lot of times that hammering action will break loose a lot of the rust in the threads. Weld on your nut and you will have a lot better rate of sucess.

Clint love your videos, try welding a heavy washer on a broken bolt first then a nut. When heating up a nut to remove a bolt, just heat up two sides opposite each other, much less likely to strip the threads, I found this the hard way. Keep up the great work.

Yup..bunch of work before can get to missing track rollers but am sure after new rollers, psi wash & paint (?) this 6-700hour machine will have a new (happy) owner knowing you & yur team at C&C has reworked everything to A+ condition! Heat causes metal to expand. When removing a broken bolt, heat the metal surrounding the bolt and "NOT" the bolt, so the hole gets larger. Heating the bolt only causes it to expand and get tighter in the hole.

thats how i got a good case 580B in 2012 a town ship had it on the island doing water and septic work for the homes and community center. it stopped moving and there mechanic said the transmission gone out, it had not been run in 4 years, i asked them if they wanted to sell it, they told me if i could get it running and off the island before the ice road went out, witch was already getting iffy. i i could have it for $500, cnd, scrap price for a place 400 miles from a scrap yard has a cab with heat, i know these 480 rubber tire loader backhoes pretty good, i know if i got it running and put it into forward and if it jerked forward and stopped, same when putting it in Rev. the transmission was fine, i took 5 gallons of fresh fuel and filter out in my truck, drained fuel tank changed filter, i fired up in about 10 cranks. it had turf tire on it but they have a like new set of contraction tires for it that go with it plus the service manual for the B and the E series, sure enough i put it in forward and it jumped a head an stopped, i knew what was wrong, i used the backhoe to pull it self out of the brush, out on to the town island road and pulled my self up on my trailer, with the hoe ya it was a bit heavy on my trailer, i chained it down and out over the 2 miles of slushy ice road and 400 miles in the cover of dark, home, in the spring when it warmed up to work on it, i drained the transmission, drilled a 1" hole in the case, were i knew the pick up screen is, when the first bit went though, black mud, drilled until i had a 1" hole, flushed it out with a vasal cleaner air parts sprayer, used 6 gallons of fuel oil and vasal mix . the catch pan was like stuff you dig out of a swamp. i kept flushing it until clean vassal flowed out, then flushed it though same hole with hot water and presser washer.. drilled the hole bigger for a 1-1/4" pipe tap, put a 1-1/4 pipe plug in the hole, filled the trainee up, new filter, 2 new self made bucket pin on the backhoe, everything else was tight, it only had , 6800 hours on it, they had bough it new in 1976. to this day it runs great, these old case 580B an C have no way to get to the pick up screen in a sump in the housing, the dealers tell you you have to tear the transmission down and rebuild it, thats total bull crap, you just need to know bang on were and how to drill it. here in NW ONT. CANADA, heath and safety banned all shop pits EVEN ONES with built in exhaust fans many years ago due to deaths, close calls (bad air) years ago, they all had to be filled in, SHOP USE HUGE LIFTS OR BIG STEEL RAMPS, FOR BIG TRUCKSAND HEAVY EQIPMENT
