I think this is the first time Yvonne has really been featured specifically on camera, other than just being in the background. Am I wrong? I have to say, Linus and Yvonne, you two really do make an attractive couple, and you're clearly a team both responsible for raising adorable children, oh, and actual literal kids too. The former, obviously, being the staff and channel itself xD Seriously, this makes me just want to stop to say congratulations for the life you share, because if your public facing life is similar to your private life (none of my business, of course), then you've worked hard to achieve something most people would be lucky to have. you know what would be really cool, if you hadn't already thought of this, would be to mount a video camera on the back side of the wall to be constantly recording whatever is going on on that side & be able to play it on this tv - that way it would look like there is just a true window in the wall or even a big rectangular hole in the wall when there really wasn't one. of course I suppose, however, if nothing interesting is ever happening back there it might be quite a waste of time to bother doing this.

What's the point of a paper thin television if your best idea is to put it into a thick hole in the wall? You could do this same effect with any display. Well push back the episode until it's done. Want to make more money by breaking it into multiple episodes? Fine, but drop them all at the same time. This is not some giant dramatic show that keeps people on the edge of their seats, just finish the damn thing. Connect a camera to the other side of the wall where the TV is mounted. So when you have the camera streaming to the TV it looks like a window.

5:44 Ok now I am wicked jealous that you have a Milwaukee M18 FUEL 18-Volt Lithium-Ion Brushless Cordless 10 in. Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw with a 9.0Ah Battery I want one of those so bad, I bet you love that sucker, It is so sick that everything is going to cordless now! I have a little Ridgid 7-1/4" cordless brushless dual bevel sliding miter saw and I love it, it is sweet for cutting 2x4s and trim and boards up to 2x8 and it covers most of what I usually cut, still I want the Milwaukee cordless 10" miter saw for cutting larger stuff, one of theses days I will end up getting it lol! Update I got myself a Milwaukee 10" M18 FUEL Dual Bevel Sliding Compound Miter Saw like the one in the video 5:44 and I freaking love it, best 10" miter saw I've had and going cordless is sweet plus I got the same portable Milwaukee stand with it for free thru a promo!👍

Why do you use the thinnest TV in the world if you make a deep hole in the wall anyways?
@Zankaroo7 жыл бұрын
They are making it look like a window so it has to be recessed in as windows are almost never flush with a wall on the inside. Picking a thicker TV would have made them cut deeper or all the way through leaving ugliness on the other side.
@bitrot427 жыл бұрын
I don't think "thinnest" vs. "thin AF" would make much difference in the outcome, just the price. But, I guess, sponsors...
@MonkeyPriest7 жыл бұрын
That was my thinking. It is a cool project but any decent TV could accomplish the exact same results. This project, interesting as it is, does not take advantage or showcase how thin that TV is.

Whats the point of this ? I mean you can do this with a thick TV too . Whats the point of getting the thinnest TV in the world and then putting it in the wall . A thick old-fashioned TV will look the same when put inside the wall .

if you'd place it further in and a smaller hole for window, you'd get more of a window feeling where you can look at the sides by moving instead of the same picture from every angle
@pseudocode65067 жыл бұрын
So you get a TV that's a few MM thin, and make it the depth of any other by mounting it on MDF. You could have used a normal TV instead!

I appreciate a cool idea when I see one, but honestly, it still just looks like a TV in a wall to me, not a window.
@idiymybest21517 жыл бұрын
They didn’t really frame it out to look like a window but maybe once they have some good video to play on it it will be more convincing.
@ABQSentinel7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I agree. And now that they've decided to recess it INSIDE a wall, the whole point of using an ultra-flat TV for this application is now gone. You know, they spend so much time doing this outlandish shit these days, I really miss the past when Linus Tech Tips featured genuine tech tips, as well as the cool performance and gaming PC builds that real people could actually afford to do.
@ABQSentinel7 жыл бұрын
I can appreciate that, but as content creators, it is their job to do exactly that. And 7 minute long advertisements disguised as content is definitely not the way to go. Whoever their creative director is should be reassigned and let someone else take a crack at it.
@ABQSentinel7 жыл бұрын
Actually, I'm quite certain that I could come up with a number of content ideas that would be much more interesting than what LTT has featured of late. As for Sargon of Akkad, only an ignorant twit would call him "alt-right." Honestly, that's not even a real thing. It's just a label used to vilify any person who doesn't actively support the SJW/feminist/leftist agenda of driving everything by way of identity politics. It's right up there with calling anything you don't agree with, "hate speech" or anyone who doesn't fall on the side of open borders and BLM issues, "racist."
@killdeer7 жыл бұрын
By placing it into the wall it completely destroys how flat the TV is. You could put a 4 year old LED panel into a wall and it look like that.
@Minecraftian096 жыл бұрын
It can’t actually work like a window unless you somehow hook up an eye sensor thing that changes the angle the tv shows depending on where you are standing.
@AceNallawar7 жыл бұрын
Alternatively, cut a full hole, and make a real window

Doesnt seem like you need an especially thin TV if your going to put it in the wall. Also IMO, if your going to call it a 'windows', there should really be a video feed coming from the other side of the wall, so it's like your looking thru the wall.

Doesn't the black frame, with their perfect measurements to keep the panel in place, add bezels and cut off the edges of the screen on this wallpaper TV -which one of its biggest features is having little to no bezels?! Honest question if they took that into account or not because they don't really explain it nor does it look like they did. And if they didn't take it into account, I would imagine its going to be a pain in the arse to look at the windows taskbar.

But you could do this with any TV. You don't need a super thin flush mounting TV for this at all. You've kind of defeated the purpose of this TV by recessing it like this.
