In some fashion groups online tons of people were posting their photos generated from AI apps that turn people into historical or period or art type illustrations or photos. Then some people were saying those AI things violate artist's rights and also can be shady about photo or info privacy. (Plus can skew the person's appearance a lot, sometimes even skin color.) I don't remember all the details right now but it brought up mixed feelings from people.

I also have mixed feelings. It's scary to embrace. On one hand I can see some advantages to AI. I hated all of the AI room designs. So if you guys do make your own AI to DIY, I'm sure I would be interested in it because your design and art is amazing. I love what you both create as a couple. 😊

Ai i think the simpler the description the easier for the ai to understand. The over detailed description probably worked against you when you use ai. This is just my personal opinion i could be wrong, but would be fun to redo the room with simple description to see how it reacts to the different ways to describe your vision for the space.

The astrological toile is such an amazing idea!!! I will say, as an Aquarius, I know a lot of people associate us with water since we're the "water bearer", but we are actually an air sign, not associated with water. It's certainly not enough to ruin the design for me, but I'd really love if you adapted the design to reflect that.

I drew the ‘water bearer’ Aquarius with a big water sploosh on her head like a hat because the Aquarius I know always make a splash and have a lot on their minds! This was my interpretation of the sign in an artistic way - hope that makes sense!

1st, I really hope you keep the window wall long term...it's SO perfect for any space you may want it to be in the future (office, hangout space, spare bedroom, play room, etc.). 2nd, about the AI...i have mixed feelings...for ppl like me with not much vision when it comes to interior design, i think it could help start ppl off and give good ideas. But for creatives, i feel like it'll only stifle what they can really create and dream up! It could also new artists and designers in the wrong direction who are still learning the craft! AI is like wikipedia...not the most credible and accurate sometimes just like two of the designs you all did in the video proved. 3rd, someone in the comments said the title should be "OMG We Have a Podcast" and yeeeessssssssssss!!! and it can be about EVERYTHING Mr. Kate & Joey! - work, family, relationship (like what you all have learned in your 15+ years together), being free spirits, and whatever you all care about to express!

Make it a reality! Start doing friends and families rooms. So many people WANT their space designed, but they think they can't afford it. So find people close to you, who want to redo, and use them as testers. Do it free or cheap, but have them pay for supplies and furniture obviously. And u can maybe even flip and sell their old furniture for profit?

We are using AI to our advantage as a supplemental tool to our work, but never a replacement for the work entirely. There is some stuff that AI can help with but can't fully replace. Like you said, the AI is not going to be picking up the staple gun anytime soon lol. Everyone can use AI to their advantage to help them get to a finished product quicker but as far as AI replacing artists, AI can never replace the appreciation in the value of a human created art piece because there is always a level of labor involved, so that value will always still exist.

Hi Kate and Joey! First of all I love the idea of a podcast!!! Second You probably won’t see this but if you do I need a few tips… So I am 17 and I have been wanting to do interior decorating professionally for years now! Before I even found your channel. Watching your videos has confirmed that this is exactly what I want to do! And you guys give me so much inspiration! So I have actually designed an entire brand new house. Like the layout, siding color, roof color, wall color, flooring, trim, cabinets, countertops, backsplash, the bathroom stuff, literally everything! But it didn’t involve much decorating. Apart from the kitchen and bathrooms. And now I have got two people who want me to decorate there spaces! But the house is really the only thing I have to show what I can do. And it doesn’t really do much of that. One lady from my church wants me to decorate one room in her house. And one of my dad’s flight students just bought his first house and is completely renovating it himself. He wants a “woman’s touch” on the decorating lol. Meaning he wants me to be that woman! It’s a small house thank goodness😅. So I need a few tips. 1# how should I go about pricing? Should I even charge them? Since it’s my first time decorating for someone the way you guys do? 2# for your own space how do you decide on a style/aesthetic? And color scheme? I’m also decorating my room and I can’t decide! I love almost all the different styles/aesthetics. But the color scheme has been the worst. I just can’t decide. Really any tips you can give would be majorly helpful! ❤️

You should absolutely charge them! You can negotiate on an hourly fee that you feel is fair - even though you don’t have the experience you will still be working and bringing your artistic eye to it. It’s easy to get bogged down in the decisions on color because there are always so many options so that’s why I like to give myself time limits so I HAVE to make a decision and stick to it in order to move forward and finish the project. Trust your gut, look for inspiration to guide you and know that it will all come together in the final styling of the space. Good luck!!

I loved this portion on using AI for the room designs. It definitely helps spark some creative thoughts even if some of the suggestions were impractical. I definitely think you should come up with your own AI! That would be great and would be fun to use :)
