I’m glad you are enjoying your trip. Take care of the altitude with the “soroche”. Perú is divided specially in 3 areas. The Coast at the ocean side, it is a narrow desert area, never rains (only with “The Niño”) and some valleys made by the rivers that come from the mountains. It goes from Ecuador to Chile at the South. Crossing all the country. Lima is at the Coast as is Caral the oldest city in all America (North, Central and South) 3,000 years Before Christ. Then the Andes: the mountains, where in this time rains a lot, where you can have mountains more of 6,000 meters high. Goes from Ecuador at the north to Bolivia in the South, also crossing all the country. Cusco and other cities. And the rain forest that is around 80 % of the Peruvian territory. Goes from Ecuador and Colombia at the north to Brasil at the south and east. It’s altitude is the same as the Coast. You have here the beginning of the Amazon river and a lot of species of animals, So you have many climates, altitudes, regions to chose to know. Good luck.

For traveler it is really IMPORTANT that you have a globally(factory) unlocked phone. The network locked phones are a great deal for large families in the states but that won't work if you travel, the sim cards won't work

An advice I can give you, my son has low muscular tone and it is really hard for him to walk... he is 11 and when we have to walk a lot we use one of those scooters you can fold and have a little seat so we can push him or even one ot those very cheap big strollers you can fold... I know it is something to carry sometimes but a lot easier than a winny kid or not be able to visit places because of it...
