Having seen the videos from the moment of "the boyfriend is filming me" and never calling his name, to you introducing him to your subscribers, introducing the home you share, to you guys being fiancés and now legally married, that's a crazy ride. Time flies so quickly. There's this talk you guys had in a video (maybe the tipsy talk, I'm not sure), about how you guys handle fights and disagreements and you were just talking that you have different ways of coping (like being hugged and reassured and the other having alone time to think and calm). I think that influenced me to ask about and look for it with the people I live with or have close friendships or partners until this day. Being a witness, hidden behind a screen, of such beautiful humans and of this love you share, gives me a very warm feeling. I honestly wish you guys the best with anything you'll do in life and send you lots of love! 💜

I personally don´t wanna spoil anything for the viewers who haven´t seen this video yet, so let´s just say I´m totally stoked for you guys! Also, I´m grateful the both of you were so open with the questions, especially you addressing that one topic at the end- which every woman should care about way more . I feel like I have stressed out my body through this particular method for way too long. I got on it at the age of 17 and stopped at the age of 35 when my body had started showing signs of side effects for a few years- like feeling depressed a lot and my body changing as well. So this is a decision every girl/woman should think about well and maybe re-think it every few years. Once I had stopped with this particular method my body and mind changed for the better, but it also transformed and I struggled with the same issues that led me to take it in the first place: hormonal issues and acne (aside from the obvios reason). But over all it was the right decision to cancel taking it. I feel healthier and more content with myself and - you can always change your body for the better if you just put enough care and effort in, like work outs, a healthy diet or researching and changing skincare until you have found the right path for yourself. I am truly glad for you, Sissel that you`ve stopped early in your life and I am thrilled for the both of you guys and am rooting for youuuuuuu 🙆♀

18:23 About birth control, I think is very important to acknowledge that every body is different, and some body’s may need the hormones that come with the birth control to regulate and actually function as it’s supposed to, I don’t think there’s such thing as “a fake period” but again, every body it’s different and I do agree that some doctors are to quick on prescribing you birth control when you may not need it or even want it, so yeah, if you have questions about it I would recommend to do your research, ask your doctor, find different opinions and get what’s best for you, and if it doesn’t feel right then don’t feel pressured into keep using it ☺️
@noodle_witch Жыл бұрын
Also not because something it’s not “natural” means it’s automatically bad for you, and not because something is “natural” means it’s automatically good for you, always research and listen to your body so you can find what’s best for you ❤❤

Loving your latest shooting and editing aesthetics 🫶 I never dated Korean men either and never introduced my parents to anyone until I met my Swedish partner who speaks little to zero Korean. I personally think speaking the same language doesn’t necessarily mean you communicate well with one another. If you are willing to communicate with the person, that will itself and your decision to meet in the middle for each other will overcome any inconveniences. It works both ways when my partner interacts with my Korean parents and when I talk to his Swedish family.

I agree with you re: communication without language fluency! My husband is Korean and his mother speaks not much English at all despite having lived in the USA for many years. I am learning Korean but I'm still not very confident or good, so we have to communicate in a blend of languages and nonverbal communication. So far we're doing okay! The effort and intentionality of communication makes a big difference even if the language fluency isn't complete. :)

ME AT 9:03 😧😧😧😧😧 AHAHAHA I was so shocked, thank you Jake, best marriage reveal lol so happy for you, guys 💚 And I really liked the way you talked about arguments. Recently, our friends broke up after 8 years beeing together because of difficulty in communication. Even if people going separate ways it's normal, it shocked us cause we rarely argue and we can't understand what did not work between the two that did with us for the same amount of years. You said it: while arguing, we don't try to win, we argue "like we like each other". When we have some kind of disagreement, we do not offend each other nor we try to impose our mindset on the other. We talk while trying to find a balance, a common point between our different mindsets. It's not easy, we say sorry a lot even if we're angry, sometimes we don't even come to a balance, but we still respect our ideas, listen to the other and go through it because we love each other so much that having an "unproductive" disagreement (that has no benefit on our relationship or doesn't let us understand smth new about the other) isn't even worth it. This was such a cute video 💚 Oh, and I missed you, Sissel eheh

I have been following you for quite a long time and wow your growth is palpable 👏🏻👏🏻 very refreshing to see someone becoming wise and accepting things than maybe a few years back you wouldnt. I am brazilian and my husband in english, living in England and this year married for 18yrs 🎉😊 and one of the things you said in this video about gender roles are SO SO TRUE. 50/50 in a relationship might work for a time then the cracks and resentment will start to show, thats why, in my opinion, so many relationships dont last anymore. Respecting each others limitations and roles are vital for a peaceful life together. Being a team with each other and not against. Really refreshing seeing you saying this as in my opinion is what makes or breaks a couple 😊 honour your partner strengths and love them for who they are , accepting and not want to change to fit in our expectations. Its really simple and its what real love really is. Wishing you both all the best ❤

Loved you talking about not being on hormonal contraceptives. ❤I quit mine, had an implant, 3/4 years ago since it did NOT work for me. My body hated it and was so unbalanced. I loved being able to «check up» on my bodily functiona by monitoring my period. A steady period is often a signal for balance. Everything had to change tho because I got Endometriosis, and if I wantet do have the choise of having children later on, i had to get back to it again. Hate it. Why don’t they have better solutions to these things? Female health is so undervalued. I have no limits to how many times I’ve been medically gaslighted.

@17:46 Hi, what you said about the contraceptive pill is partly true, but not the whole truth. While you’re right in that the contraceptive pill creates a more structured cycle instead of your own natural cycle, it’s not true that you don’t have real periods. You still get your period, the contraceptive pill can just reduces the flow (if you have heavier periods that are difficult to manage) or creates a more regular cycle (because some people have really long or very irregular cycles). So, if you take the contraceptive pill you will either take it for 3 weeks and then have a 1 week off without taking the pill, which is when you would get your period, or the other type of pill where you take it for 4 weeks, but the 4th week is a placebo/sugar pill, so you’re not actually taking the hormones that week and instead can cycle through your period. Also, you may not be aware, but a person can be prescribed the contraceptive pill to manage particularly heavy/unmanageable bleeds/pain, or to help with the symptoms of managing PMDD (Pre-menstrual Dysphoric Disorder), without having anything to do with having sex. Thank you for trying to speak openly about important topics 😊
@sisselab Жыл бұрын
Hey! Actually that’s not true, the bleeding you get is artificial, it’s not a real period. Everything happening on the pill is not real, your body thinks it’s pregnant when you take the pill. Also yes, people can get prescribed the pill for a heavy or unregulated flow, but that’s extremely unhealthy and completely ignoring the underlying issue. The pill in this case will only be a bandaid solution eventually creating more problems for you 💚
@katscozycorner Жыл бұрын
@@sisselab thanks for your comment and I appreciate that by manually changing your cycle with the pill it can feel forced or artificial. You’re right in that it simulates a pregnancy, but the reason you allow a week off the pill every fourth week is to allow your body to still cycle through your flow and bleed, even if it doesn’t release an egg. This way even if a cycle is forced into a very regular rhythm you still maintain the bleeding part of your cycle, because skipping the bleed altogether is what would be more unnatural and unhealthy. It’s also true that for some people the pill is not a bandaid, but the means to help them have a less painful and more manageable period. Of course everyone is different and the pill is not for everyone (just like the implant and other contraceptives are not for everyone). But I try not to judge anyone based on their very personal choices, because you cannot know what someone else is going through or experiencing or might be right for them (even if it may not be right for you) 💜

Purely constructive criticism but… I find it really messed up that you put the blame on non Korean women saying they get what they deserve if they meet guys in Hongdae or thru dating apps. Women meet men at clubs and use dating apps all over the world and that still doesn’t justify toxic behaviour from men. If foreign girls meet toxic men in Korea it’s those guys that should be held accountable… the way they met is no excuse and no one should be judged for using apps or meeting people at clubs.
@sisselab Жыл бұрын
I’m not putting blame on anyone, please don’t read into what I said to such an extend. Fault and responsibility are two entirely different things. Tinder in Korea is not used for dating like it is in other places, if you go on there and expect otherwise it’s up to you to logically rethink your your tactics at finding love. There’s also nothing wrong w just wanting casual physical relationships, we should stop calling that toxic 💚

You said that right on birth control and period pain not being normal! They just don't put any money and research into the underlying issue 'cause they don't care if women suffer but let's just drop that dinosaur mentality already! I'm also dealing with a very bad period to the point that I have to plan my life around it because the bleeding is so heavy it makes me anemic, the pain makes me literally tremble and I'm barely able to walk and function during the first 2 days...and the doctors said 'it's fine, it's normal, it happens, just get on the pill' (I live in the UK by the way).

sissel I've been following you for a long time, when you still lived in your small apartment with the kitchen at the entrance lol. when I watched your videos I felt like I was on a video call with my older sister, I also remember when for the first time I heard that you had a boyfriend I was also a little jealous, I thought you wouldn't spend the same time with us anymore, but instead you always gave your best and I learned to appreciate the relationship and happiness you shared with Jake and now that you are legally married I can say I am really happy for you,you have changed with him but in a good way. I wish you all the best and lots of happiness❤

Hey sissiii you talked about you not using the pill but what is the alternative? How can we replace the pill without the other invasive ways ?
@sisselab Жыл бұрын
Use a condom! 💚

I highly suggest checking out Bedsider, it's an incredibly informative site and they have a whole section on contraceptive options. It's worth noting you can react incredibly different to different pill formulas and birth control methods, so there really is a trial-and-error when it comes to finding the right kind for you. If you'd like to avoid hormones, condom, the copper IUD, and fertility awareness (using basal body temperature + ovulation predictor kits) are great options!

I loved this video! I started living with my boyfriend too since last year. The first few months were a bit rocky, being with each other all the time instead of only seeing in the weekends, or even before that our long distance relationship. I quickly noticed the 50/50 wasn't working for us either. I just decided that I am going to be a silly girl just doing my silly tasks and my man will do the heavy lifting indeed. It's just been so much harmonious since then 🥰

Loved this video! Totally relatable on the documents as well. For some reason that taxes were a big influence on my partner to rush the process XD Very happy for you both!
