Other countries actually have a great maternity leave time unlike the US. Australia i believe gives a new mom a year of paid leave and the option to work part time if needed. Its good to be able to actually have more options to be a stay at home or working mother while your child is still young unlike having to after find child care and not being able to afford daycare or even use it until they're a certain age. Its really sad.

@@jamiev who uses spellcheck and autocorrect anymore? Its actually been proven that the brain can process a word misspelled or missing letters as long as the first and last letters are the same without reading the entirety of the word and still know what the word is. Raed btewen the lnies

We love @SarahRenaeClark ! Sarah's channel is one of our favorites for the knowledge, skill, and fun she invests into every video! In the last 2 decades, colored pencils have really come into their own as a full-fledged medium for serious fine art, but they haven't lost their approachability and enjoyment factor. Sarah's short where she sorted thousands of colored pencils still amazes us, and we've sorted more than a few pencils in our time!

Serious props to Jazza Studios for supporting moms in the workplace! It is so cool to see the flexibility you allow your staff. I find this empowering and so thoughtful! And also, I don’t think anyone minds having a sweet babe in the video. 😊 Kat, I actually really loved your piece. I know you felt the color placement was off, but I think what you did is great. Alysha, the butterfly was gorgeous! The use of the green for the body and outline of the wings really allowed the warm oranges and yellows to pop. Well down.

Great video and collab with Sarah! Can I just say as well you guys are setting the bar tremendously high in terms of fair and inclusive treatment for working mums and normalising babies in work places where it is of course safe to do so! A lot of mums aren't given the opportunity to bring young children or babies to work with them ,where safe to do so of course, when childcare isn't an option. I have soo much more respect for your team and family ethic now❤❤❤

What I love about Insert Art and Sarah's channel is how they both want to make art accessible. I recommend the color cubes and the online color catalogue so much in what I do and what I do isn't coloring/painting/drawing. I work in fiber. I think one of the biggest stumbling blocks for most people when it comes to any form of artistic expression is the fear/unknown that is creating a cohesive color palette. And I also learned a LOT this episode. The circular motion is going to be a game changer for me with coloring.

im honestly surprised that Sarah didnt mention that each of the 3 brands of colored pencils leds are different Prismacolor is wax-based Polychromos- Oil-Based CARAN D'ACHE- Water-soluble so they will work differently
@SarahRenaeClark Жыл бұрын
We talked about this, but not everything ends up included in the video, and this was something that isn't essential for the way we were using them. Most pencils are a blend between oil and wax (but the quantities vary) and so the definition of wax vs oil ends up being more confusing than helpful for many beginners.
@icanartsorta Жыл бұрын
@@SarahRenaeClark I see I feel like it would have been a bit more helpful to know Like back when I was starting my art journey, I didn't know more oil based and the soluble even existed I knew there was the polychromos but doesn't get why they cost more than Prismacolor Knew that out of the cheap brands, crayola is the best

Props to Jazza for letting mom bring her baby to work. We women have been made/wired to be multi-taskers. Since the beginning of time, we would bring our babies to work and still be hard workers and very productive. My grandmother used to take her babies to work with her in the fields. She'd take a break when needed to drink something and breastfeed the babies, then sit them under the shade of the tree and get back to work. And when they got older, they walked and worked along with her. I think more businesses should allow their mothers to bring their babies/children to work. A woman, if she is a woman of good character and has great work ethics, is going to get her work done. So productivity wouldn't be an issue if you've hired a woman of that standard. Also, if you've ever been a working mother, or a stay at home mother, you know that both can come with the feeling of guilt, which isn't good for our mental state. If we are home, we can feel guilty for not being out in the work force and feel like we aren't worth as much if we aren't working and supplementing our husbands income. But when we are out working, we feel guilty for "having someone else raise our children" and fight the feeling constantly that we need to and should be home with our children. Either of these situations are so hard on our mental health. But being able to bring your child with you to work allows for both of those things and ultimately helps us have a stronger sense of purpose and meaning.
