Good interview Tom. We really did get very lucky with Mr Marinakis. Not perfect, no-one is, but you can't question the ambition, the standards he requires, and the progress we've made and are making. Good times ahead!

Mr Marinakis gives us Christmas presents every week, even when things arent going our way. We are very lucky to have him and although its been a bumpy road, I honestly think the set up hes created will bring us european football sooner than we think. Love our club!

I think he was at a different club to me last season, i tend to remember 30 players, psr, clattenburg, sacking a manager and lot of crying whilst fighting relegation; and even talk of leaving our proud home at my club lol

Very good now to hear the chairman clearly commit to staying at the City Ground. The problem with standing is that the Clough stand is really showing its age - the blocks at each end are not angled towards the centre of the pitch so people jump up/lean forward for a clearer view. It only takes one person near the front to stand and then suddenly a hundred behind have to stand to maintain their own view. Stewards have been crap at dealing with this. Overall it probably makes sense to TRY these areas as 'safe standing'. But after the Main Stand is rebuilt, somewhere down the line, we are going to need to look at upgrading to a New Brian Clough stand, with more seats more facilities, safer and better views. It's actually the most upgradeable side of the ground anyway. There's just a disused canal and a car park.

As a professional, I absolutely rate this guy. Would hate to have a pint with him as I think we would differ on politics and not vibe. Happy for him to run my club though. Need these kind of serious people to be successful.

I’m pleased to hear about the investment in the women’s team and the venture into netball. People might be sceptical about the latter, but I think this is all about making the club a community asset and fostering an even stronger sense of association with the club amongst women and men, boys and girls. Being a Nottingham Forest supporter is an important way people identify themselves, why not take that into another sport that has not had the support or profile its strong level of participation deserves?

'Safe Standing' is a complete mystery to me. Why ANYONE would CHOSE to stand to watch a football match when you can sit comfortably in a good-view seat absolutely bogges my mind. I stood at the City Ground for 45 years because I simply could not afford a seat. When the stadium became all-seater, post Hillsborough, I could not have been happier.

You sound like an old man... leave the standing to the young ones. Cheers

I'm a 67 year old and been going for 60 years, I've just swapped for safe standing,as can't be doing with sitting down it's shite.
@PRHWoolly802 ай бұрын
That's your perogative. If I wanted to sit down and watch a game or some sort of entertainment, I'd go to the theatre or a show. That's my perogative. At least now those of us that do prefer to stand and vocally get behind the teams, can do so in a safer environment.
