I would love to see a series where you take one food (Chili, sloppy Joe, taco meat, salsa chicken, etc) and show many ways to use that one food! I often make big batches of these things and others and freeze the leftovers, using them later for other dishes. I’d love to see your take on this!

One of my favorite ways to eat kale is as a kale Caesar salad. So much of the magic of a Caesar salad is the dressing, and the kale holds up so well to it. Definitely worth a try.

I enjoyed watching your cooking for community videos. I didn't realize I would be batch cooking for my mom and step-dad. He was recently diagnosed with Parkinsons and dementia, and my mom doesn't cook. I couldn't stand to see him eating nothing but Tacobell and premade snacks. So, I started preparing meals for them the last couple of weeks. It's been a bit overwhelming, but remembering your Cooking for Community videos, helped me push through that. I plan on re-watching them for ideas. Thanks so much for doing your videos! They've been so helpful!❤

Soups are awesome! I'm always up for more soup content. Maybe trying soups from different parts of the world? I'm Czech and one of my favorite local soups is made with mushrooms (often dried porcini, but the recipes can differ), potatoes, cream, dill and served with a boiled/poached egg. It's called kulajda. I also love a good hearty borsch.

Could you do a series of 2 weeks of affordable sandwiches? 1. Fast food lunch can be expensive. 2. Bolonga and hot dogs get boring. 3. Lunch should give you energy for other half of the day. This could help home schoolers, work-at- home types, brown baggers and people like me stuck in a rut. You could call the series 'Super Sandwich to the rescue!'

I love kale in tomato soup. I don't know why but I can eat it several days a week. I added it to make it healthy but now I love it. Also, kale is so easy to grow. No kidding. I am NOT a gardener. I don't grow anything. But I have 2 large pots of kale going all the time on my patio and it grows with me doing nothing but watering it. And half the time I forget that!

Kale! I love kale so much :) In my hometown, my local bakery has an amazing and easy kale salad I loved. And, it's really easy to make at home. Well-Bred Kale Salad 1 lb fresh kale, stems removed, finely chopped 4 Tbsp olive oil 1-2 cloves minced garlic 1 Tbsp lemon juice 1/2 Tbsp black pepper 1 cup dried cranberries 1 cup slivered almonds, toasted 1/2 cup parmesan cheese Salt, to taste 1. Wash kale thoroughly, remove stems; finely chop leaves 2. Mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic and pepper together. 3. Pour mixture over kale and massage with hands. Let sit for 3-4 minutes 4. Toast slivered almonds 5. Add cranberries, cheese, and toasted almond slivers to kale and toss

I vote for the ham potato soup. I've been making the olive garden soup as one of my specialties for thirty years. I use breakfast sausage, onion, garlic, broth, potatoes and CARROTS, and I add spinach to the bowls and ladle boiling soup over it because the leftovers keep better without the greens. Topped with tons of parmesan and/ or a slice of american cheese.

#1 suggestion for kale, take out the rib, chop, and massage (scrunch with your fingers) and then add it to any pasta salad recipe. it adds a ton of vitamins and minerals. tastes delicious with anything vinaigrette based. the key to eating it raw is the massage, breaking down the cell walls mechanically like that really gets rid of the bitterness and makes it tasty

great soup series !! i live in tuscany and kale is my new favorite winter veg. there are SO many things. i usually cook it in an olive oil, celery, carrot, onion sofrito. about 45 minutes, ending with most of the water cooked off. this is delicious served with white beans. usually, we have them as sides with some sort of roasted pork. then, i make a soup of all of the leftovers. and some cornbread. because even though i live in italy, i am a southern woman. fried puff pastry served with beans and this same kale on top make a great starter !! buon apetito !!

I use kale or spinach as an addition to many soups. I don’t always make soup with a recipe, but love the added flavour, colour and nutrition that kale provides and easy to add. I make a version of your soup today but without the cream. Not a cream soup fan and without is more budget friendly. Sausage provides such a flavour boost. Added beans can help stretch the servings and make it more budget friendly. I use some additional vegetables. I would love to see more soup ideas. I think they can have a great place in your various budget series either with soup as a starting point, or soup made from something you have leftover like chicken or ham. And yes I would love to see more vegetables where possible in those series. Kale is a great contender in that role.

My grandmap used Wolf chili in her enchiladas. It is my favorite and I live in Texas--- kingdom of Tex Mex & chili.

Not a kale recipe, but a way to freeze kale (before it goes slimy): De-stem the kale leaves, chop them however you like, rinse and spin dry (in a salad spinner if you have one, otherwise just dry as well as possible). Pack in freezer bags/containers (label with the date)...and that's it. Kale ready for soups/stews (but not for salads or kale chips)...I add kale and spinach (that I freeze, as is, if the bag/box I bought is looking weary) to many dishes...because I love greens...

I've done chili with rice in burritoes, scrape butter on the burritoes then crisp in the oven for 5-10mn, then turn over for 5-10mn to crisp the other side. They are delicious!

Kale in the airfryer /oven. Wash it and pat it dry. Cut it in smaller pieces. Like you did for the soup. Then coat it with oil, a bit salt and pepper. Put it in the airfryer oder oven and brown it until a minimum browned and crispy. Personally i love to add some feta grumbles above. Make sure to be carefull with the salt :) A nice side dish to an Omelette or scrambled eggs.

I am a big fan of kale! I've made kale chips by crisping it in the oven and sprinkling salt on top. It's great stirfryed as a side with some garlic or in eggs. Also love a good kale salad with apples and sweeter vinaigrette!

Literally my favorite soup! I used to go to olive garden just for that soup and of course breadsticks!

I also always massage my kale to help it be more tender. You can sprinkle a tiny bit of salt on it to get the tenderising going. I love kale.

I love the soup idea and also the use of the leftovers. The way you take them and make them something else. Of course, I enjoy watching whatever series you want to make. You’re very creative and Dollar Tree or no Dollar Tree, you still show what someone can do on a low budget. 😊

I watched all of Souptober. Fantastic soups. I learned something too. Soups are.fairly inexpensive to make , even the fancy ones like this last one.thm so excited to try the enchilada soup and chili amd make the leftover enchiladas, those were such a fantastic idea for leftover chili! Thank you for all your hard work, it is much appreciated! I was having a brain block on what I can make that doesnt cost too much.
