I have a solution for your white interior issues , I have a Tesla with white interior, use “Car Guys Super Cleaner” on the seats and wipe with a micro fiber towel, removes everything , your seats will look brand new again.

The wireless charger is under warranty! They will upgrade it for free because it is a known probably with the gen 1 charger.

Don't use magic eraser on leather, it removes the sealing clear coat. It's an abrasive, works well but it damages things. Use a dedicated leather cleaner. Poor guys has a decent one but there are more. You can also try a general apc diluted. You should then apply a leather sealant to make it easy to clean in future. Great look at the car. Looks very nice.

I just got my R1T last month and I love it. Don't forget to add a USB C hard drive to enable the dash cam. And you can ask service to add the gen 2 wireless charger. Just say it doesn't work.

How do you service the car if rivian goes out of business? many electric car companies have gone bankrupt recently which would cause me to not get something from a company that might not be around for long

@@honeybvn Pontiacs are not as software dependent as electric cars so I don't think that's comparable. Based on the recent Fisker bankruptcy, it looks like the owners won't get any more software updates, no more warranty, resale value decreases, etc. Its like rolling the dice getting a car from a new startup.

​@Scott25368 sure it's always a gamble, but Rivian is pretty well established now. If you didn't realize, they provide the EV trucks for Amazon, so the cash flow is there. I would say you're taking a chance with any vehicle now. Look at how many vehicles control their HVAC through the infotainment system. Who would service that, if pontiac had lived long enough to have the same tech? The same could happen to any of the current big brands

@@notman05 Well Ford or Toyota aren't going out of business. Pontiac was a GM brand so GM still supplied coverage for them, and had common parts with other GM cars. Despite Amazon, Rivian is burning through cash too fast and had to get an infusion from Volkswagon. Q1 cashflow this year was negative $1.51 billion.

If I were to get an electric car it would be a Rivian. But right now with how much I drive an electric car is not for me. Not enough miles per charge. At first the headlights I didn’t like. But after seeing more and more Rivians on the road they have grown on me. Glad you are enjoying the Rivian.

Great review! I love my R1S and really like #Rivian as a company. Consider applying an interior ceramic coating to your seats (after you get the black-belt scuffs removed). That is the first thing I did when I picked up my R1S b/c I have a 110 pound Golden Doodle. Cheers!

Thanks for the thorough review. You really answered most of my questions regarding the Rivian and the bonus answer of comparing it to Tesla. Of course, the Model Y is not comparable to the R1S, but you gave me a good understanding. I’ve ordered the R2 and I was thinking about the model Y which might fun to drive, but it is kind of a boring vehicle for me. I like the Rivian concept of making vehicles. Thanks.

The ambient noise is absolutely spectacular. What a cool decision from the company. Man I've wanted one since you started talking about it and this did not help. In southern mn we don't see a lot. In my town of 10k we know of 1 T model and that's it, so anytime we see one we yell "tracker mobile!!!"

I really enjoyed this video! Didn’t know much about the Rivian, so it was nice to see a review of the Rivian. But, I don’t think a Tesla Y should be compared to the Rivian, because the Rivian is a larger vehicle and the Rivian is about twice the price of a Tesla Y. I would love to see the Rivian compared to the Tesla X. They seem about the same size. We have a Tesla 3 and a Tesla S plaid. We love both cars! We travel all the time with our Tesla and you can’t beat the Tesla charging infrastructure.

They are abrasives and your leather is painted & clear coated effectively. Use dedicated cleaners only and perhaps a good high quality protectant would help staining in future ☺

I think you should have mentioned that the Rivian is pretty much double the price of the Model Y. Having said that, I love both Rivian and Tesla. I just think that was information that should have been included. It really isn't an apples to apples comparison.

On Gen2 Rivian’s the yellow accents are on tri-motors and the blue accents are on quad motors.

My husband has been keeping an eye on Rivians for a while. We bought a toyota rav a couple years ago, but my 2003 chevy malibu is teetering on the edge of “maybe it’s time to say goodbye” and he often teases me about getting a rivian. It snows where we live, so getting another vehicle with ‘snow mode’ is always a good idea.

I test drove an R1s and a Kia EV9 at the ev show this spring. I was really impressed with the Ev9. The R1s was a close second. R1s probably had more power but the EV9 drive was super smooth. I currently drive a Chevy bolt ev.

The twraps wireless charger for the Rivian works perfectly
