When I was going through RCIA, the one stumbling block I had was Christ's true presence in the Eucharist. I wanted to believe but I needed help. No words could convince me. So I prayed in front of the Blessed Sacrament exposed in the monstrance, and asked Him to reveal himself to me so that I could believe with integrity before my confirmation. He did reveal Himself in the most amazing, supernatural way. By this experience, I would encourage anyone who has doubts to sit in front of the exposed Blessed Sacrament and ask Jesus to reveal Himself to you. Watch what happens!

IN THE 1960'S, young man, we looked to achieve a sense of mystery and ponder the wonders of God and his creation. Many surrendered to the mystery of God using drugs etc.. It led to disaster for them and their families. I decided to deal with reality and booted this silly practice from my live . I decided to let god lead me . It requires faith patience and trust - all of which nobody has in abundance . It's been almost a mantra of the priesthood when confront with an impossible question from a parishioner ' It's a mystery my child' . Why not be honest and say these four beautiful words: I DO NOT KNOW !

He's dead wrong, self-reliance is the only way to get to Heaven; relying on God will ensure that the ones who do that will wind up in Hell, for not doing their jobs... but total self-reliance is the thing that ensures that those who do that wind up in Paradise for all eternity, as that kind will put his own back into his tasks and do his own work- precisely what is needed to get to Heaven. White-knuckling it is the only way to wind up in Heaven, as it is completely up to us to get to Heaven; any reliance on eternity will forever ensure that those who do that will wind up in Hell for all eternity for not doing their own jobs.

I myself would turn completely anticatholic due to my endorsement of humility and in full endorsement of humility, as well as rightly totally anti-God due to Him being described as great, as the "most high", that alone engineers hatred for God due specifically to myself pursuing humility.

@Father Mark Bernhard, I have deep respect for catholic brothers and friends. However mystery can also exist in the mysterious presence and symbolic nature and ritual of communion, not necessarily Transubstantiation , which is no more or less relevant than when we discussed it in the 1500's. Climate change is the most important topic in our lifetime (it's not even close, and God weeps at our stewardship) next to the immediate pandemic vaccinations equaling pro life, abolishment of the death penalty, healing for LGBTQ, indigenous, immigrants, decrying the encampment of millions of Muslim uyghurs in China, and dismantling white supremacy. Where is the Catholic Church on the more pressing issues of the 21'st century as Jesus The Christ met with the woman at the well? That "culture" will only leave you in the 1500's until like Paul in Athens, you speak the language of the present time.
@Noone-rt6pw3 жыл бұрын
Well, if people are not being properly nourished make arrangements to feed them! Where Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs applies to children and adults. So create activities at church where people interact and really got to know each other better. Recreation and leisure are both needed, so nurturing this would be good. Then, by devotion to God, quit eating pork.

Representation of Christs offering of himself on the cross? No, never. I like Father Marks homilies but Jesus never said get Priests to offer a sacrifice over and over again, and thank you for piercing me over and over again. Therevis not a scrap of evidence in the new testament for that. I suspect Father you saw the true gospel, you were going to become protestant and were snatched back into Catholicism. Jesus said whilst he was still with them, this is my body, do this (eating and drinking) in memory of me. Not a sacrifice, not bread transformed into Jesus body. In memory of me. Im not suprised 80% of young Catholics don't believe it. It is nonsense.
