Justin Welby is a disgrace and should resign from being the leader of the Church of England. He, along with other bishops of the church don’t even believe the beliefs of the Church of England. Matthias was added to the number of the apostles to replace Judas, which brought the number back up to twelve-Acts 1:24-26. If Mary had been considered an apostle by the rest of the apostles there would have been no need to add one more. But none of the other apostles acknowledged Mary of any other woman as an apostle, not even Mary, the mother of Jesus. All of the word of God from Genesis to Revelation, is the God breathed, written word of the eternal, living Word, Jesus Christ, including the teachings of the apostle Paul. Christ spoke and wrote through all the apostles and prophets, including Paul. Your kind of false teaching has caused so much evil in the church.

I went to a Church of England Junior school and High School. In the 1960s and 70s. The doctrines i was given were sufficient for me to believe in God. However when i decided to give my life fully to Jesus Christ I begged God to direct me to the right church. God ordered my steps. God didnt choose either Church of England or Catholicism. What a journey i have had walking with Jesus. He will order our steps not man. God does not want you amongst them. Get out and stay out. Man thinks he is in charge. God loves you too much to leave you with them that are against his word. I totally empathise with Bernard. I have been caught up in a safeguarding complaint. With all the expert help the result was the same. Am I the loser. No, because I see it that God closed a door to a ministry that I was not needed to be in. God has opened new doors. Sadly once a safeguarding complaint is made there is no way to defend yourself. The whole system has become a monster. Yes we need safeguarding, but we also need to apply common sense. I forgive and move on. It's the only way.

And this is exactly what is wrong with the CoE. If God has called you to service him, no Bishop should stop you. The clergymen in the CoE lost the power of God, they are not moving by God’s guidance but by carnal regulations. Imagine if Paul would just stop because pharisees would restrict him from the ministry for his heretical views and desire to follow Jesus and preach the Gospel. Papal Jurisdiction was removed in 1534 and restored by Mary I and removed again by Elizabeth I under an agreement known as cuius regio, cuius religio (your king determines your religion). It was reformed by Archbishop Thomas Cranmer. If the Council of Trent did not found the Roman Catholic Church but reformed her then same for the CoE

nowhere in the New Testament do the true believers do a runner, leaving the church to the wolves. Paul always urged the churches to stand up to (and even expel) false teachers, to protect the congregations and stay true to the gospel. (Timothy, Titus, to name just two) Yes, true believers will have to face persecution, vilification, false accusations, but we are ONE BODY and we need to watch out for one another, praying for one another, not being bullied into silence. We need to pray AGAINST false teachers, that God would drive them out of his church just as Jesus drove out the moneylenders from His Father's house.

@michaelcornelius, just some thoughts about 1 Timothy 2:8-15 - while describing what and how a good Christian wife (usually in this case) should comport herself in a town where women were seen as 'fair game' by sailors, or temple prostitutes who wore even sandals with 'follow me' imprinted in the soles so their 'clients' could do so, wore their hair in a 'fashionable' way that advertised their wares, never mind the clothes, but was also seen as 'the latest thing' by non-street worker women and, Timothy's church being a new one with many newly-converted people still used to pagan temple mores, wouldn't you think the advice Paul gave, in those circumstances, was wise? We are so far removed from those times, and such behaviours are rarely discussed - but look up what has been discovered in Pompeii re. sexual mores, they were pretty well accepted as a part of life, if not *encouraged!* Timothy had to teach against that. Also this: just what was the post-partum morbitity of mothers in those days, and the incidence of sexually-transmitted diseases? Would you not think that verse 15 is a direct reference to post-partum morbidity in both mother and/or child be lessened, if not actually removed, if a woman kept to Christian teaching regarding being sexually 'pure', that is staying with her husband, and him with her? Thus the words "saved through childbirth" may, and probably does in the Greek but loses something in the translation as not to "offend", exactly that - *she and/or the baby wouldn't die because of some congenital disease or damage.* In women, STDs are often "silent" and I was an STD Clinic nurse - usually, the first sign of an STD in a couple, even if it's Candiada or TV, is usually noticed in the man - so I know this! Therefore, Paul is giving general medical advice to pass on. Of course, for some, it may have already been too late - syphillis well after any chancre showed, or gonohorrea which, if untreated, can lead to infertility, and related to heart and brain damage, and can be passed on through the placenta, thus causing congenital damage in the foetus, even miscarriages. So, yes, in the light of spiritual, historical and medical meanings, I would accept that.

But no he clearly says ' saved through childbirth and then adds a list of but only if conditions.... John 3:16 places no conditions on our salvation, and indeed Paul in his accurate Ephesians 2:8-10 passage does not apply to only one sex nor to places conditions. Indeed elsewhere he says that in Christ there are no male/female Gal 3:28. Paul is frequently inconsistent in his writings both in relation to his own comments as well as those of Christ. Paul was not Jesus Christ, just a man so we can excuse his errors, however, the church has used Pauls writing as if they were the actual words of Christ, and used them to control and subjugate the congregation. Before you reach for 2 Tim 3 'all scripture is God breathed' he was speaking about the OT, the NT canon did not appear till the late 4th C, and likewise the Bereans in Acts 17 were only looking at the OT - there was nothing else.

@@michaelicornelius Thank you for your kind reply, and I fully agree about the fact that Paul, and others, only had the Torah and Tanakh to work from, apart from the, then, oral reports, and any copies of Epistles, of Jesus' teachings. Often, the modern Church doesn't really realise that enough, except for some. Paul had to put out the many fires in the young churches in Roman Empire world, and had to impose a form of discipline to keep them together. What you call 'subjugation', wes, in my humble opinion, used much later by the Church to impose it's *own* authority on the Christian Church, from using the fear of imposing excommunication and being anathema, to using Jesus' teaching, and Paul's, as the divine authority to justify itself, very wrongly. And often against women, because 'sin in the world was Eve's fault', to 'keep them subsevient', culminating in witchfinding and trials. Seeing Paul as 'mysogenic' might be a misinterpretation, imo. He may not have been Jesus, but he was in touch with the Apostles who were, and he was a very learned person for his time. Just a thought. Blessings.

Infallibility is a very narrow thing - referring only to defining dogma, in faith and morals. There has never been an infallible prouncement on morals, and as for dogma - an infallible definition is only making explicit what has been always the belief of the church. The Pope has jurisdiction over the Church, but as a Catholic I can live faithful to the Church in a huge variety of ways, and think freely.

He has over our lives, and I am reminded of a Prophetic utterance given in 2000, presented by one of your fellow countrymen who came to Western Australia and gave this word." God is about His business of drawing out His people from manmade structures and soulish control that those will love God and His Word, and follow the Holy Spirit who will be faithful and will walk with Gods power". I have seen this over again in the dismissal of the ones who are passionate for God's word by those who may know Scripture but are empty of the Life of Christ, and decisions where a particular Church has dismissed the validity of God's Word and settled with improvision to suit trend, and mostly from the hierarchy who are devoid of the submission to God and His Church. Don't waste your journey, as Jesus passed by when unbelief was present.
