What a lovely Tracker FB. Very nice choice! We are like you in that after many years caravanning, we made the move to motorhoming, after our brand new Buccaneer was rejected due to horrendous damp. We made the decision then to go for a motorhome. We had some amazing adventures in our Adria, but have just changed to an Auto-Trail Comanche S, and we absolutely love it to bits. I am loving the mirror idea, and am about to show the wife the foam idea. What a cheap, effective and rattle-eliminating solution. Subscribed, so many thanks!

We are patiently awaiting the delivery of our new Autotrail having, like you, decided to move over from many years of caravanning to a motorhome. Looking forwards to more hints and tips!

Hi Michele and Keith. Great to see you taking no time to get the new motorhome into the "shape" you want for yourselves. Great tip for using foam for crockery and glasses - safe and no noises - will save that one up in case we ever change like yourselves. Lovely job with the mirror Keith - finishing touch with the domed screws was very professional, as was the curtain to screen off the bedroom area when needed - simple but neat and effective. Great job - thanks for sharing. Safe travels as you enjoy the new one ! George and Trish - CaravanningMacs

Great idea Michelle on the foam. You now have me thinking about motorhomes purely because of this idea. We hired a large Adria motorhome 3 years ago and whilst we enjoyed our time with it what put us off owning a motorhome was the rattle and banging of mainly crockery whilst travelling actually doing my nut in. With that is why we chose to get a caravan. The both of you have now got me thinking again about motorhomes...

The spirit level on the top of the mirror would only have been accurate if the motorhome was also 100% level. Also just worth checking if the glass is suitable for if you have an accident? Remember you’re now sat in there with it, unlike the caravan. Hope you’re v happy with new m/h.
@keithandmichele3 жыл бұрын
Hi David, Many thanks for watching, just to let you know, our motorhome was parked on our driveway which is 100% level. Michele’s Dad actually paved it & he’s a perfectionist 😀 Sending our best wishes to you, Keith & Michele.
@davidtanslow35843 жыл бұрын
Excellent ideas, however may I add that I'd recommend when using screws to fasten the mirror to the door that you use another piece of wood inside the door or thin wall to strengthen the overall area and also allows you to use bigger stronger fixings or screws. I used a ready made wooden plaque with a line of coat hangers. It strengthens the door and provides additional hanging garment hooks. Also the double sided tape needs to cover more of the mirror back to prevent drumming and breaking of the glass. Be careful that the bathroom door handle doesn't damage it if it swings out too fast, use a door stopper to stop the door handle impacting the new mirror.

Hi, I do not want to be overly critical here, but did you hear the sound of the door opening and closing whilst installing that mirror? That is the problem with these motorhome builds - there has not been enough attention paid to the noise whilst travelling, sound deadening and overall acoustic performance of these vehicles.
@keithandmichele3 жыл бұрын
The sound you heard when opening the door was the catch. When the door is closed the catch is latched to the back bracket so you don’t hear any noise. Many thanks for watching, Keith & Michele
