Getting a pour like that in a place like London is an amazing story which makes that day priceless.

I clicked because of the “Double Eagle Very Rare” but I stayed because of the Glengarry Glen Ross references. I really wanted one of you guys to drop a “you see this bottle? This bottle costs more than your car” on one of your neighbours at the tasting 😆

Great video guys. I opted to open a 2010 George Stag instead of a 20 year old Pappy I purchased 20 years ago for my retirement drink. Absolutely my favorite bourbon especially considering it was distilled in 1992 the year ny daughter was born. I hope you have a great day.

Talking about being in the right place at the right time! I am glad that both of you got to experience a Double Eagle! It's funny and sad that you two were the only ones that new exactly what was going on and how incredibly special was that pour.

Good for Buffalo Trace, but I haven’t been able to any Buffalo Trace here in Iowa in ages. They need to work on their US supply chain in meeting demand

What a surprise!! I went to OHLQ event in Cincinnati, OH 2 weeks ago where they were doing a raffle that included DEVR and Weller Millennium with each location having 15-20 bottles of each up for grabs at MSRP!! I got picked #10 and did buy a DEVR. Not sure what I'm going to do with it, really want to keep it but hard to justify a $3000 bottle. But it was also probably a once in a lifetime opportunity to get one at MSRP!

Honestly, just happy to hear that it's something that actually tastes exceptional. I'm sure most of those don't get opened and BT knows that they could get away with putting subpar whiskey in there.

I would be floored if I came across something like Double Eagle Rare, Woodford Reserve Baccarat Edition, or anything like that. I for sure would sip it as slow as I could and tell the people what we have our hands on!!
@jeffwinbush50393 ай бұрын
If I saw a Double Eagle Ver Rare, I'd whip out my phone and not my wallet. Take a pic, and go on with the rest of my day. I can imagine what a pour of something like that would be and that's money I could spend on bottles I can actually take home with me.

Pretty cool! That special pour more than makes up for having White Dog in the flight.
@ItsBourbonNight3 ай бұрын
We like their white dog. Not going to be reaching for it very often, but most people haven’t had it before. It’s always cool to see how the whiskey starts knowing where it will end up years later.

@@ItsBourbonNight It *is* a good science experiment. I admit it wasn’t that many years ago I didn’t know bourbon starts off clear. And White Dog taught me that most of the things I like about bourbon come from the barrel time. Now it’s time to get Harlan Wheatley on the show to see if he can pass the hand slap test!

If you ever get a chance to buy for retail you have to pull the trigger, just for the resale opportunity…you could quadruple your money easy, or like you said would be a cool syndicate buy in bottle share situation. Will there ever be a Triple eagle rare haha?!

@It's Bourbon Night - That's a question I've been pondering lately... Was it a "waste" on those people who weren't really into bourbon, or JUST getting into it? Could they really discern how much more special or better the Double Eagle Rare was over the regular Eagle Rare??? Or did they just taste it and go "Ok...I guess it's good."??? Whenever I have guests/friends/company over, they know I going sit them down, and try to get them into bourbon. 90% of my bottle's are open, and fair game for everyone to try if they'd like. Yeah, there's a couple of bottles that I'm trying to hold on to , for something in the future, but for the most part everything is fair game. But I wonder, am I being a Whiskey snob if I'm not offering a new comer a pour of some of my higher end stuff??? Not that I wouldn't and not that I haven't, because I love sharing and introducing newbies to whiskey, but I'm wondering lately if they really truly don't know and wouldn't appreciate what they're holding in their glass, are they getting the full value of it? Now when I do, I take responsibility for trying to explain what they have in their glass and educate them, but I have to do it in a way without coming off like a pretentious a-hole! Any opinion? Or are you offering every new bourbon drinker that comes to your house, a pour of that Booker's Rye? 😉👍
