This is great! I’m actually an entrance station park ranger for the volcano! I’m so happy you guys did that hike and were sooo positive about the whole experience! Not everyone has been as understanding about the closures as you guys! I also grew up on the hilo side and it’s great to see how you guys spent your time ❤️👍 thanks for being respectful and showing KZbin the Big Island from your view!

We loved Hawaii... we went for our 5th wedding anniversary back in 2017. (My husband lived there for a few years when he was a young boy, when his Dad was in the military and his family was stationed at Schofield Barracks in Oahu)...For our trip, we stayed on the island of Oahu. We stayed one week up in the North Shore area, and a week in Honolulu and Waikiki Beach area. Have a great time!...I was waiting for you guys to finally go to Hawaii!

I love Hawaii, I have been there twice! Once in 2010 where we stayed in Waikiki in a hotel then back for our honeymoon in 2012 where we stayed in a house slightly more north on Oahu. We did take a day trip by small plane to the Big island and saw the volcano too. Although we didn’t really see much really just lava fields and black beaches. Can’t wait to see more of your tasting videos I am hoping to see you trying poi and plate lunch also their tuna is amazing! Also they have their own chocolate which is delicious and they seem to have a real thing for spam over there!

Cool so you're at the Ka'iulani! Its a good base to start your adventures! Hope you have time for a hike up Diamond Head, the view is beautiful and since I like your camera work I know you'll get the vista shots that will make it wonderful! BTW there is a neat dog park at the base near the local college/entrance to the Diamond Head trail. If you're still here on Sunday the parking lot where the white chapel has a food market with interesting things too...more coffee as well. I know your time is at a premium so if you want to get a really quick poke bowl you're near Kapahulu and in that town there's both Foodland and Safeway. Foodland is the local supermarket chain and it has poke thats worth your time. They offer a decent poke bowl as well. Safeway also does poke/sashimi enough to quench the raw fish yearn. Not too far from Safeway is Leonard's Bakery. Its known for Hawai'i's favorite Malasadas. They are fried sugar coated donuts and they have both the traditional with just sugar to the cinnamon/sugar dusted to the haupia/coconut, guava or dobauch filled ones. Definitely a must do. If you have time drive into Manoa Valley and go all the way to the back towards the Lyon Arboretum. At the base, after passing thru the neighborhood, is the trail to the Manoa Falls. Its a proper hike to the falls and it think you'll like it...especially since your time limited. There's the Arboretum above the hike entrance were the University of Hawai'i has its green houses. Lots of beautiful plants there. Also if you want another vista other than the Pali go thru the H-3 tunnel as the vista of it coming out from the Aiea side to the Kaneohe side is magnificent especially on a clear day. Sorry I took up a lot of space here but Im excited that you all are here in my home of Oahu and I hope you have a wonderful adventure here given the time limits you have. Have a wonderful "holoholo"/adventure and a hui hou=time next time!
