Great video as always. Just as a slight side question though. As an island that must be very conscious of the plastic waste washing up from the ocean, are you surprised by the number of restaurants that you have been to that seem to be serving you on disposable plates etc?

Nice video but you guys should have went to Giovanni's food truck for shrimp we had the shrimp there and they were out of this world its near Ted's bakery

LOST is not the only show that has ever been filmed there, Magnum PI and Hawaii Five-O are were ( originals ) & are ( remakes ) still filmed there.

There was a great series from 2012 called The last Resort filmed there more recently

Hawaii is wonderful. I am British with an American husband - he's from Cajun country yet has learned to speak Hawaiian. We were fortunate enough to be able to stay at the Halekulani, whose views have been spoiled by guess who building a hideous hotel named after himself nearby.

Thinking about all the places that you have seen, and all the adventures that you have experienced. You two have done a tremendous amount. In the end, you will be fulfilled, reminiscing on all that you have experienced in life. Thanks for putting together all these vlogs , and giving us a snapshot of your time together. the ranch and north shore are my favorite spots on oahu. one time when my mom was visiting, we popped a squat on sunset beach and munched on a couple slices of pie from ted's bakery and watched the sunset. it was a lot of fun. i can't wait to go back.

3:23 If they’ve had to rebuild it from scratch, why not rebuild it with more durable, longer-lasting materials? 🤔
@Caswell195 жыл бұрын
Because the original filmmakers just make things out of weak material since it’s cheap and doesn’t need to be up for a long time. 99% of the props are makeshift and taken down as soon as filming is completed
@aimeek28585 жыл бұрын
I agree. If they want to have it as a permanent feature for tourists, they should rebuild it with stronger materials

I worked at Kualoa for almost a decade doing the horseback tours. It’s an amazing place. I remember seeing you guys out there. Also, the hike you were talking about is right above my old house in Kaaawa.

Yes! Garlic shrimp! And as usual for a local plate lunch, it comes with 2 scoops rice and 1 scoop of mac salad. It's not an authentic plate lunch without those items.lol They have a banana macadamia nut creme pie from Ted's. My favorite and the absolute best! Enjoy.

You video showcased two of my pet peeves about Oahu tourism. First, almost none of Jurassic Park was filmed at the ranch and I see video after video talk about how the movie was filmed there. Jurassic World...fine, but not the original Jurassic. With that out of the way, THANK YOU(!!!) for not just visiting Giovanni's because that's what all the guide books say to do. There's awesome shrimp up and down the north shore, including a couple right next to them in the food truck lot in Haleiwa.

I have great memories of Red Lobster when I worked in the southern States, coming from the UK. In particular I remember parking my hired and horribly-sluggish 4 litre mercury in the car park only to not find it when I came out. It turned out it had been hidden between a massive 4x4 pickup on one side (with a ladder to get into it) and a 22 ft (I checked) 1950s Chevrolet (with fins) on the other! My introduction to the southern US.

I absolutely love Kualoa Ranch Movie Tour is was fantastic would love to go and do this same tour. They were filming King Kong Skull Island when I was there, surprised how small the set was cool to see what was left behind :) That shrimp made my mouth water looks absolutely amazing. If your looking for more food try Konos in the North Shore was fantastic! Also Germaines Luau was fantastic show and food.

there's a aquaculture farm not far from Ku'uloa ranch that raises shrimp, ogo (type of seaweed) among other things. They sell mostly to the local shops though the public can buy from them as well, if they have a surplus I believe.

Which tour was this? It looks way more involved than the Movie Sites Tour that was $50? Was it the $130? They mightve evolved some of these tours. There are so many. It's a big cost, so I wanna make sure I do it right!
@annalisahamlett13342 жыл бұрын
I wanted to ask the same thing! The Ranch's website is hard to tell from the photos, which one they went on? Did you happen to figure it out? They say at the beginning of the video they are doing the Jurassic Park Ranch Tour, but none of them are listed as that 😂 Then at 49 seconds in, they hold up their passes that say "Movie Sites Tour". So I assume the pass name is correct Tour? The $50 tour.
@BillPonderosa2 жыл бұрын
@@annalisahamlett1334 We went last month - we did the Jungle Tour (much cheaper)... and it was pretty fun though less Jurassic Park centric stuff. Though you're basically IN Jurassic Park the entire time, so it all feels like youre there. As for the tour... we drove by the Jurassic World wall, as well as Kong, Jumangi, Lost, a couple other places I forget now. We also were able to climb to the top of the mountain and look down into Jurassic Valley - probably the highlight of the tour (where many films are made, as well as where the chase scene in Jurassic Park). Can't speak on the full Movie Sites tour itself, but for $200 cheaper (for 2) - save your money and rent a car. Drive all around the island. 10/10 worth it. Best experience was honestly driving around and stopping at the road side food stalls on the way.
