We Visited Istanbul and the Reality Surprised Us

Imagine if you had to commute to work every day by going from one continent to another continent? For many residents of Istanbul, this is a reality! Istanbul is the only city in the world that lies on two different continents. One side of the city is in Europe, and across the water, the other side of the city is in Asia. It’s our first time ever in Istanbul, and we couldn’t be more excited to visit this bucket list destination. Thanks to GoTürkiye and Turkish Airlines for hosting us!

Morning TopFlight family. Never knew this that Istanbul layed on 2 continents. Would love to try their food. Always looks so seasoned, diverse and yummy. The museum. The baklava. Love that your daughters are willing to try new foods. The traditional clothing and photo shoot looks fun. Omg goodness. A whole show to get get an ice cream 🍦. The mosque looks regal. The candy 🍭 shop always fun. Like the miniature gardens. My husband would love the vintage cars. Was saying to myself great the cats are not feral as the one swung at your daughter. when my family and I were in Istanbul we stayed a few nights in a small hotel in Sultanahmet. Towards the end, we got to stay in the Park Hyatt, which was an amazing experience

How do you find guides in each city you visit?

For this particular trip we were working with GoTürkiye, which is Turkey's tourism board, so they arranged the guide. But on other trips, our favorite places to find guided tours are Airbnb Experiences, Tours By Locals and of course, TripAdvisor is always pretty comprehensive! We probably use Airbnb Experiences the most though. I find that the experiences and guides there aren't as old-school, and tend to be a little more in tune with what today's travelers are interested in.

Hey what's up Top Flight Family! Happy Sunday! Wow thank you for sharing this trip with us! I've always wanted to visit Istanbul. It has some amazing architecture and I'm obsessed with architecture😁This is definitely a "Bucket List" destination and now you guys have solidified that! It seems the girls had more fun than the parents in this one! Istanbul has tons of attractions for kids it seems and that great! And the food looks amazing! Carmen that indigo blue dress you was rockin was beautiful and Serge was lookin regal in his Istanbul "Drip" I might add as well Thank u for pointing out that it's important to visit the Asia side as well. It seems the Asia side is more my speed, as look more traditional and less touristy. One thing, I didn't see where to click the link to see where you guys visited the other city with he balloons!
