Could this be America’s most underrated city? Our family has visited some of the most famous cities in the United States this year, but we wanted to make sure we got to explore some of the lesser-known cities as well. It’s our first time ever in Minneapolis, Minnesota and this city has really surprised us. In this video, we’ll take you through some of the reasons we think Minneapolis should be on your list. Whether you love art, food, music, shopping, luxury hotels, or theme parks, you’ll find something here that lights you up. Thanks to Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis for hosting us!
When you're done with this one, watch our 24 Hours in America's Biggest Mall video here:

I'm a 37 year resident of Minneapolis. I enjoyed your video but wish you would have said something about the lakes. Minneapolis is known as the "city of lakes" (where the Minneapolis Lakers, [now the LA Lakers] got their start) having 13 lakes within the city limits. Whether you're walking, biking or driving around them or sailing or fishing on them, we love our lakes here. We also have more bike trails than almost any city in the country except for, I think, Seattle. You can rent a bike or e-bike and ride for miles and miles.

I´m from the Dominican Republic and I recently went to Minneapolis for an international fellowship with other Latin American colleagues and, wao o boy, we were blown away by everything this great city offered. One thing I liked a lot where the parks and out doors nature and the easy public transportation route that takes you anywhere in the twin cities. Looking forward to re visiting it something in the future :D

Moved to Minneapolis 8 years ago and proud to call it my home. Lots of diversity, culture, and new things to explore and do. Like any city, there are bad things and places but the people here really do love and care about their home. Tons of pockets of places to explore all over the metro and suburbs. I am also always impressed by the integration of nature, paths, and parks.

Great video! My husband and I travel a lot, and in 2020 we were looking for a spot to head to within a day's drive from Chicago since we couldn't fly. We checked out Duluth and Minneapolis that summer, and since then have been going back to Minneapolis during the warm months. We really like taking a stroll to see Minnehaha Park to see the falls, as well as go out to eat along the river and in Uptown. I'm so glad the Four Seasons has a rooftop pool! Since we go in the summer, we like to try and go swimming and haven't been able to find a hotel with a good rooftop pool (obv that's quite an investment considering the short window of opportunity to use a rooftop pool in Minneapolis!). Maybe next time we'll book a stay there. Beautiful family, cheers!

Hey Carman & TFF...I whole heartedly agree; I went there in 2018 for the first time for the 4th of July, and all EVERYBODY I know asked me was why? what's in Minneapolis? my answer - Paisley Park " if thousands of people visit Graceland every year, why don't we (BLK ppl) do the same for Paisley Park..." A real sweet coworker sent a bunch of links for places of interest...I did none of that. Instead, I just let the City experiences happen...and I must tell you, it was everything. I did the VIP tour at Paisley Park and it was truly amazing ( Highly Recommended). I spent one of the BEST 4th of July EVER watching the fireworks on the Stone Arch Bridge. There's a street festival before the fireworks and it was incredible...the people were very friendly and welcoming. I also went to the Sculpture Garden which I highly recommend as well. I found a perfectly good bike on the train and gave it away to a stranger who was so humbly appreciative and grateful he gave me the best hug and rode off happy as if he just won the lottery. I fell in love with Minneapolis, and can't wait to return soon.

Paisley Park is definitely one of my bucket destinations and thank you for showing us this Iconic facility and home. That was funny how Carmen wasn't havin' much of the haunted room!😆As usual, you guys find all of the greatest spots to eat! Shout to the Sean & Ella cams to showcase the eats!😁 And I want to thank you for showing us and giving us a reminder of just how far we have to go towards racial equality by taking to the George Floyd memorial. Most people think you just sit in the house while you are here. But there is always something to do. I used to live in the apartment building across from the hotel downtown. The people of the Twin Cites are always out and about enjoying themselves. I been here for 37 years from Mississippi. Every time I call myself moving back down south I find my way right back up here. The people don't beat around the bush about if they like you or not. They are full of love. And number one place to raise a family. All my kids are here. This is a state that believe women in children comes first. The funny thing about when I first moved here is I went to got aid and they gave me health care right away. I had never seen a doctor before. This state really cares about your health.

Minnesota is ranked near #1 for the happiest state in the nation year after year after year. I didn't know how great Minnesota was until I moved away (and then back). As other commenters have noticed, while the video is great, you actually haven't even hardly touched about how amazing Minnesota is. There really is so much more. You have to visit the government website Explore Minnesota in order to start really getting the idea. In my not so humble opinion, the best thing about Minnesota is the lakes. Stay at a few different lake resorts during the summer months and you may just wonder why everyone doesn't just move to Minnesota. Thanks to the typical public perception that we are frozen 12 months a year, we have been able to keep Minnesota the treasure that it is. One question - is there a way to close the curtains when showering? I'd be concerned about being the target of a good pair of binoculars. And, yes, there are men that would wait for hours for the opportunity...

I live there and grew up there. I suppose a city is never so exciting to natives as to visitors. But I would rank it behind places like San Francisco or New York. It does not have the frightening homeless problem and people camping on the sidewalks and using parks as toilets. That is one advantage. But still, it does not seem so exciting to me as a native.I feel safer here than IO would in Chicago, LA or NYC. NYC was nicer under Guiliani and not as nice under the DeBlasioi government. They need to clean up the crime. So, one should not expect too much from the TC. But not too little.

Been living here my whole life and been looking at moving to other cities yet most places are more expensive, with worse wages, and aren't as low crime for the size. I could go on about a lot but those are the main few factors. Yeah we have harsh winters but man are our springs and summers beautiful. We're actually considered a "climate haven" to an extent as well. We don't really have intense natural disasters too often and when we do, our infrastructure is built with flooding and intense winters in mind, so it doesn't generally hurt us for very long. Our main metro area is large and there's many suburbs near the Twin Cities that are also really affordable compared to many other similar metros as well. We have great art, tons of music, lots of culture, lots of food, and amazing nature right in the city. It's definitely worth a visit and Idk if I'll ever live anywhere else long-term.

@MidwestMagicMan Жыл бұрын
@@Lvl.9Turtle Everyone has preferences and different needs for their lifestyle. Crime is rising in pretty much every big city in the US, not sure if that's a specific Minneapolis thing. I'm really just comparing to other bigger cities. Jobs here are great, lots of fortune 500 companies, really walkable, affordable compared to somewhere with similar business opportunities. There's not really too many areas around Minneapolis I'd be scared to walk in. Idk, for my career and life options it was Denver, Seattle, or Minneapolis. The other cities are kind of hard to justify in terms of price. I would love to consider places like SC but the jobs pay literally almost 35% less in some of those areas for my field and aren't nearly as walkable/bikable. Different strokes.

I live here, but I'm not from here. The Twin Cities affords an easy life, for the most part (great economy), but it also snowed today, October 14th. Keep this in mind as winter can stretch from late October to late April (there can still be 10+ inches of snow on the ground in late April) so make sure you come at the right time or dress accordingly. We live here but are moving because of the rampant crime and lawlessness. You don't want to go anywhere near downtown at night. Before you get mugged or carjacked you will get to experience violent. psychotic homeless people defecating on the sidewalk, large groups of vagrants in full contact knock down fights with not a cop in sight and if you are lucky you may get a chance to test your reaction time by dodging stray bullets from a gang dispute. We used to love going to MPLS for concerts, shows, dining and sporting events but it is no longer worth risking your life do dine at Ruth's Chris steakhouse or to see a Wolves game. It is very sad. This used to be a great city until it was ruined in the last 3 years by completely incompetent leadership.

The problem is that there has been increases in all sorts of crimes in the past few years, including car jacking, shootings, robberies, riots. The result is that downtowns in the Twin Cities have much fewer visitors than once. There has be demoralization of the police and people do not feel as safe as they used to. Lockmakers have been working to capacity because of the fear of crime. Minnesota is a place that used to be nice to live in. Now people are not so certain. That includes crimes in the Mall of America and on the light rail trains. So, thanks for praising the Twin Cities, but it might have been nicer a few years ago. The death of George Floyd and some other shootings and deaths seem to have started a decline. And the politicians have contributed by not doing as much as they could to solve the problems.

@@TopFlightFamily Don't count us out in the winter. Because we're used to it, there is a ton here to do in the winter too. Being outside in the cold can be pleasant if you're prepared for it. Wear synthetic or Marino wool socks. Not cotton. That's a game changer in itself. Wear layers. No really. Long underwear under a pair of jeans will keep you toasty. Don't wear gloves. Wear mittens. Your base layers shouldn't be cotton either. Cotton holds moisture. You will sweat under your clothes. Then you'll get cold and be miserable. Cover your ears and head, again with something synthetic, or wool. Wear coats that seal up. The wind is cold and if it can blow under your coat, you may as well not be wearing it. You can be outside for hours in the cold. You just need to do it right. If you half ass it, you will regret it. It's not a fashion show. Unless you were born here. It's 34F right now and I'm in a t-shirt and light pants.

@@herranton I grew up in Miami and I love Minneapolis in winter, as long as theres a fresh coat of snow. The winters are nowhere near as bad as they make it out to be.

I was born and raised in Minnesota. I've always lived south of the cities, but as much as I always loved Minneapolis and St. Paul, things have definitely changed. The crime rate is through the roof and Minneapolis is not somewhere I would be after dark. Most definitely not with kids.

I have been to Minneapolis and it’s not that great, traffic is horrible, crime is out of control, oh yeah summer is like one week long then it’s gets cold really cold. So don’t waste your time and visit somewhere worth while.

MPLS does have a lot of things to do but unfortunately the city has gone downhill with crime and the influx of many homeless coming here. Don't go out at night and careful on any bus or rail as there has been many assaults and worse.

Prince's house is a nice thing to visit, but it is a bit far out of town in the suburbs. My family tends to stay in the suburbs and avoid downtown, and we have lived in the TC since the fifties. It was better before. It is not as bad as some notorious cities that have a worsening reputation, but it could be better.

It's cool that you mentioned Mpls can "light you up" because I got shot multiple times there. So yeah, accurate.

You chose the wrong city. St. Paul is much better. Plus paisley park is not in MPLS. Maybe you should change this to the twin cities.
