Sorry bud this isn't reddit no one is going to circle jerk your trash opinion here. They promised bigger better updates. This isn't a years worth of work and it's clearly designed with the intent to have people spend money on the update. Let me also fill you in on something okay because I can tell you people are clearly only playing DOTA. Other live service games and even other MOBAs are offering WAY more content and frequent updates that are not only larger but also just as high in quality. Speaking of quality that is the only thing you can really say that gives this update any merit. That's the only promise they have fulfilled here. Not only do we have the BP that we knew taken away. They are taking historically longer to release the new hero. They have released only this single "content" patch and a paid treasure since New Frontiers and they have also withheld a gameplay patch for a long time. Why is it bad to hold them accountable for the frequency part of their promise? Not to mention that this update while looks pretty is largely nothing. New players coming to this game aren't going to care for this shit. Long time players barely do too. Circling back to what other games are doing and how DOTA pales. Did you know since the new frontiers update. Fortnite has had 6 seasonal updates and a major update. In that time span that we got a comic, a minigame and a cashgrab treasure. Meanwhile on fort. A completely revamped map, twice. 4 game modes. Completely new weapon set. Several really good cosmetics and like 20 different collabs. Free emotes, free premium currency, free skins. Now thats a much bigger game. Lets look at something more comparable. League in this same time has released FOUR new champions. Released over FOUR large updates and has had about TWENTY minor and maintenance updates. Several skins of the same quality as our two here that we got and much more. Okay now also remember valve PROMISED us they would give us MORE. But they have so far only delivered a variant with less than what we would get from BP but it also took them even longer. I don't understand why you are coping so hard and telling other people they have no right to complain. It's a free game like SO many others now and delivers far less. But at the end of the day this free game is a PRODUCT. People are in fact entitled to judge a product made for consumption and for profit.

Honestly, with so many double down tokens, I am kinda glad no new hero. Everytime they release a new hero, if someone in my team picks it, they suck, in the enemy team they own. New hero release and the first month or 2 months post is my least favorite time of the year regarding dota

This event is pretty cool, but it's more because we have been starved for content for a long while now. It feels like a more interesting Cavern Crawl. Plus some shitty sets in treasures. It's still a far cry from a Battle Pass. No Immortal Sets, no Personas, etc. It's pretty lacklustre considering what we got in the past. I do really hope that the discounts you earn through the coin can stack, so if you participate enough, you can grind the Arcanas for free. If not, that would be super disappointing.

I feel like, with the available game mechanics, Dota 2 is really limiting it's own potential. They could introduce a starcraft-like single player campaign if they wanted to, but instead they want people to play 3+ games a day for several months like a monotonous gamer purgatory just to earn skins that get thrown on the pile of overhead data.

I find this is nice. Nothing is broken and there's even more lore stuff, even a comic is included. Dota 2 lore is fucking dope as hell. Y'all be tripping if you think all patches have to be game changing in some degree. It's a nice little content drop to make up for TI I suppose. TF2 comics are some of the hardest comics out there, and it's been awhile since Axe and Goodkind comic so I have no qualm with it.
