What could be worse than getting stung? The wife and I once did a day trip to Cades Cove. We found a nice secluded picnic site that included a campground style pedestal grill with a picnic table. I lit the charcoal and started grilling burgers while the wife pulled out our picnic basket and set up the picnic table. Just before it was time to flip the burgers, a big skunk came directly out the woods heading directly for our site. We ran directly for our vehicle and watched the skunk climb up onto the table to devour everything! You can scare away a bear but never try that with a skunk! Lesson learned. Happy travels!

You should of kept going a few miles down to the Ashburn exit and stayed at Carroll’s Sausage Country campground. Full hookups for $40 and you get a $10 coupon to use in their store. As of now being a retired truck driver and camper I know the noise of a truck stop and the lights are irritating to a camper. BUT. Yea a big BUT as a truck driver it doesn't bother us a bit. Actually it's music to put us to sleep by. Also the truck bed has a light vibration to it which I miss. I tend to keep a light on in my camper as well as a fan if the ac is not on. Oh btw my son got stung last year by bees that got into the power cord hole in the side of the camper. I had to pull a panel inside the camper and remove a huge hornets nest. Keep up the good work.

I'm sorry it didn't go well for you. My wife an I stopped at the Valdosta GA Love's RV stop 3 weeks ago on a long travel day and had a good experience. Having full hookups in the warmer months is far better than running the generator all night to keep the AC going. With the Love's account discount I think it was a total of about $43 for the night. The noise level was low and the accommodation nice. It is definitely catering to overnights and not longer stays. The only complaint we had was very low water pressure. Everything was clean. We got in and out very easy. The entire transaction was on the app. Whereas I normally prefer a harvest host, there was not one available in the area. For travel days needing a overnight stay, it was a good choice for us.

During my 14-day trip to the Grand Canyon and back to the East Coast in your favorite state, I only paid for three places to stay: one night at a KOA, one at Love's, and a campground in Utah (to see if I might want to stay there long-term in the future). Since my RV is self-contained, I learned how to use my generator. The Love's RV spot was more expensive than I expected. While the stay wasn’t bad, it wasn’t worth the price for just one night. I found I preferred staying overnight at Cracker Barrel or rest stops. In the future, I’ll skip paying for one-night stays. I also found free dump stations along the way, which made paying for the Love's spot even less worthwhile. Looking forward to my next trip this Christmas.

It's been at least twenty-five years since I stopped at a Loves for any reason. The last time was for gas, a trip to the men's room, and a can of Mountain Dew for the road. The gas was bad, and I had to make two more stops at convenience stores further down the interstate to get the Loves stuff out of my pickups fuel system. Both of those stores sold major brand name fuel (Shell) and my truck "came back to life" after the Loves fuel burned off. The men's room at that particular Loves was, at best, only slightly cruddy the day I stopped by. But the Mountain Dew was ice cold! Even Loves could not screw that up....Or maybe they could have. I'll never know as unless it is a dire emergency indeed, I'll never stop at any Loves, anywhere, ever again. I know it was just that one store, that particular day, and a long time ago....But once burned....

So this might sounds strange/weird/gross, but it yuckily works: us Tennesseeans are used to wasp/bee/hornet/yellow jacket stings and they're terrible! In Alabama doing army training, I (Bethany) actually walked upon a yellow jacket home. Yellow jackets live in the ground. I got them stirred up not even knowing they were there until about 4 up them ended up inside my helmet and couldn't get out until I through my helmet off. Stuff like that is more common than most realize. However, now to the disgusting/yucky thing that absolutely 100% works on almost instantly removes the terrible sting feeling that lasts forever otherwise....chewing tobacco spit. Rub it on there and it'll work. Now you probably don't want just anyone's spit on you, but lots of people in the south use chewing tobacco. I think it's gross! but, I do know my brother's dip spit removed the stinging super fast. Again, it's gross, but the only thing that works instantly. Hope maybe that can help someone. Definitely too late to help youn Bob, but maybe help for the future.

We like Love's we have a gas truck and it's a rv safe one-stop shop for gas, food, dump, propane etc. We always use the 10 cents off a gallon, too. I find the bathrooms are better than TA or pilot and they have rv parking spots where we can stop and eat. Not to mention the dog parks that our miniature schnauzer loves to run in. Some are trashy compared to others, but overall, it is a good stop coast to coast. Have stayed at Love's RV stops we have a few saved for when we drive cross country and need an overnight with power we drive 15 hours a day and don't want to be far from the highway when we stop. We usually just need a safe (not illegal) place to park with power. My wife is on an oxygen machine, so cracker barrel is not an option for us. We like that we can check in late without having to deal with someone and expect the noise and imho like the lights for security. If you want something nicer go to KOA, if you want something cheaper go to a state park, but if you need a place to crash for a few hours Love's is the way to go. I am happy they are adding this to more locations. Find me an RV spot for one night in the winter in Florida....doubt you can without a reservation but I can stay at the Love's last minute. 😊

Just dont stay there. We love them and use them alot crossing the country. But I have not run into one that cost that much. $67.

yes that was a bit much for what it was - ironically, the KOA down the road was cheaper

You pay for convenience of electricity. Of course you are going to have noise; it’s a truck stop! 🚛 No excuse for their non-maintenance though. Loves needs to keep on top of safety issues like that. Having said that, can’t judge all locations on the poor maintenance of a single location. Glad you are not allergic to wasps. 💕🙏🏻

It does set the tone though as this was our first time staying at one.

If the place is 90% empty, why were they charging surge pricing.
