When head gaskets let coolant/water in the combustion chamber it basically steam cleans any carbon out so the piston that’s shiny is where your leak was. My teacher told us his backyard way to “sea foam” your engine with a garden hose and a little bit of rpm to keep it from hydro locking.

I torched a head on my nitrous motor a few times from going to lean with to much timing. The head I torched was welded and milled flat but burned out again in the same spot probably cause I am ruff on stuff and kept beating on it.. The chamber is clean because the coolant that's normal on that. Those long runs have more time to tear shit up.
@leeroy604 жыл бұрын
In my completely unprofessional opinion, the clean combustion chamber was steam cleaned from burning all the coolant it pulled into the cylinder. Hopefully, you get it fixed and running soon. What you said about the pie cuts makes sense. Im no fabricator but I've bent some pipe. Measuring out and bending pipe seems like it would take a lot less time than a ton of welds.
