i’d argue that for young girls it ISNT okay to be vocal about it in person, and that’s why twitter is so huge. you can have a community of other girls and won’t be judged or shamed. especially when girls are trying to use these figures like dream smp or kpop to safely explore their own feelings, emotions and attractions
@bibubbletea
@bibubbletea Жыл бұрын
Agreed, like maybe it’s more socially acceptable but that’s at the cost of nothing ever being taken seriously at all. We see this with the Dream smp where it seems like it’s reduced to “oh a bunch of teenage girls are just in love with them and that’s why they watch” but that isn’t seen as the reasoning for the popularity of creators with more male fanbases, there’s just an acknowledgement that they like the content and its as simple as that. And of course these communities grow more insular because from the broader internet and their social lives, no one else takes them seriously, and on a more general level, just seems interested in what they are interested in. So the communities grow online.

Slime liking people who’ve suffered or have some sort of regular fear or flaw is honestly so relatable. It’s that sort of black-and-white thinking where, you’re either like me and you’re weird (autism /hj) or you’re ‘normal’ like the people that used to bully me. And to know that someone I perceived as ‘normal’ and therefore a potential threat has something as ridiculously human as a fear of vomiting, it kinda brings me back down to reality and makes me remember that the people around me are complex. It’s not as simple as someone being either a ‘bad’ person or a ‘good’ person. It helps open me up to form connections, otherwise it’s incredibly difficult for me.

1:37:58 It's actually very interesting that Ludwig noticed this, since there's a big theory in linguistics (my field) that teenage girls are the ones primarily moving new innovations into the lexicon, which then gets adopted more broadly across society.

The part about Ludwig’s night terrors is interesting because I used to have dreams where I could see a whole room but I was outside of it, like floating there but stuck in one spot, and the room would slowly fill with cubes but the cubes would increase in size gradually as they appeared, and the cubes would eventually get so large I would get freaked out and wake up in a cold sweat. I don’t have a good way of explaining the feeling at all but knowing someone had similar dreams or nightmares is kinda cool and makes me feel slightly less weird lol.

Such a cool intro! Glad to see there’s a new journeyman Zipper Also man Anthony Padilla is hilarious, great chemistry on the show Edit: I had night terrors growing up and that was compounded once when I was super sick and took some expired cough syrup. In my lean induced state I had to sleep in the living room sitting up because I thought my parents were trying to kill me and that someone would come bursting through our front door. I straight stared at that door for like 4 hours. Didn’t realize what the fuck caused it until I was older

Why is Mogul Mail sitting in Ludwig's seat? And why is Ludwig absent AGAIN? He can be on Fear& 12 times but can't even do The Yard consistently 🤨

when ludwig talked ab the numbers thing i knew exactly what he was talking about it was crazy comforting to know someone else felt that so close to what i have, just overwhelmed with massive numbers you cant even comprehend, usually for me itd be some eerie dream where im being hunted by a big animal thats trying to get me n my fam and then when id wake up id be in a panicing state begging not to die or something and i couldnt focus on anything but these rapidly growing numbers. almost creepy when he kept describing it n it was ao close

Listening to the guys talk about night terrors and having those type of things is very comforting. I'm 22 and currently having weird ass shit like this. I have vivid dreams and suffer from anxiety. So this makes me wonder if the increase of technology screen time causes this in youth?? Or maybe youth don't know how to process stress well because we aren't taught how to so it manifests in wild ways? I've experienced what Anthony explained and what ludwig said about the bugs , but instead I'd feel them crawling on me.

54:18 Imma side with Lud here, if I notice a reactive habit that I dont like about a best friend, I feel like its selfish of me to ask them to change, of course as long as its not something really toxic. So I figure avoiding that situation is the best for the greater good in some situations.

OMG THE WAY LUDWIG EXPLAINS NIGHT TERRORS. When I used to have them as a kid it was always like an abstract fear of something that was too big for me to be able to control. I remember one time i kept flipping light switches but every switch I flipped was a further mistake that I couldn't dig myself out of.
