Fun fact , Shqip and Shqiperia are words derived from Shqiponja, wich means eagle, thats why we love the eagle symbols ^^. Also there is no way that 0.5L of a bottle of water costs 250L, it costs 50L, 50 cent

Thank you for the interesting fact, is this the Eagle shown on the flag by the way? Yeah we purchased it near Skanderbeg Square from a newspaper stand so I reckon it might have been a higher price due to it being in a major tourist centre and is not knowing the local prices, next time I will 💯 refuse to pay that amount haha! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment too 🙂❤️

@@TeamMcGrath yes the eagle in the flag is indeed the eangle we refer to , the 2 headed eagle , we also have a sign we do with our hands , wich i cant show you in the comments , we are so proud of our double headed eagle ^^

Nowhere in albania is .5 liter 250 lek. Please share the name and location of the restaurants you go to. Along with the prices you pay for everything.

Hi, it wasn't a restaurant it was a newspaper stand near Skanderbeg Square. I think we may have got scammed with tourist prices but next time we return to Albania we will know better than to pay that much haha! I did show how much the meal cost at 16:22 into the video 🙂
@xhevairedulja2175Ай бұрын
Tirana is full of restaurants, full....i am suprised you found diffiiculty to find. The water 250 lek seems very strange. The half litter is 50 lek. How posible youbought 5 times expeensive. Then in restaurants, especially in soffisticated ones you find that price. The restaurant you show here is through the simplest. These tyoe of restaurants are good but therre are others much more better It is a pity you did not try tave cosi because of 2 portions. Even two portions are not expensive. This dush have a long history, and smt is called Tavê Elbasani, a city in ce tral part of Albania. If people go in turkey they can find this dish with name tave elbasani, thar refers to this Albanian city origine

Yeah, my wife brought it from a newspaper stand not to far from Skanderbeg Square so I would imagine it was a tourist price, I think when we return we will seek the assistance of a local to prevent falling for these tricks in future haha! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 🙂❤️

You should try the tave kosi it’s not very expensive yet pay more on Burger King in England

I will next time my friend, we just couldn't find a place that would sell a single portion, most places sold it as a 2 person meal and my wife doesn't like yoghurt so wouldn't have enjoyed it. Next time I'm in Albania I will try to find it though as it sounds amazing 🙂👌

@@TeamMcGrathu have to try fergese speca me gjiz , patellxhan te mbushur , and as a desert trilece, i think these are the best Albanian traditional foods. Tave kosi is meh, not for everyone i think, i mean a lot of people like it ,but still what i told you are standard best foods. Edit: Oh you tried fergese at the end of the video hehe, its so good.

Hi mate , very honest video, but it could have turn out better for you if you could have checked before you went out for lounch or dinner, i am surprised, there is many or better say plenty restaurants with delicious meals and reasonable prices.. and that bottle of water £2.50 .. did you buy that in restaurant? or show us which shop it was .. if it was a shop ,was a complete rip off, if restaurant, more understandable
@TeamMcGrathАй бұрын
Thank you very much my friend, it was difficult to find many restaurants as it was Eid when we visited, are there any restaurants in Tirana you would recommend?
@eaglesland8093Ай бұрын
@TeamMcGrath it is a bit strange I must say , not many restaurants get shut because of eid.. but the one you went, it did. Any way I would recommend Oda restaurant in Tirana.. it has four stars if you like out of 5 in Trip advisor reviews.. enjoy your holidays

Dude I been to Albania and they have fresh meet fresh vegetables and also everything is literally home made and you try tave kosi the worst dish in my opinion it shouldn't even be in top 10 in my opinion 😂
@dios1ish868Ай бұрын
LOL Tave kosi(Baked Yoghurt) is the best, you must not have had a good one. I think what he was having is called Fergese, which is made with vegetables, but also different kinds of meat, cottage cheese and spices.

I spent a couple of years in Yalova Turkey which your trip to Terana reminds me of. I like Dolma, bell peppers stuffed with rice and fried.

I bet living in Turkey was amazing! We really wanna visit, is there a particular place you'd recommend? I've heard of Dolma, if we head towards Turkey we shall keep our eyes out for it, sounds delicious! 🙂👌

@TeamMcGrath I like your videos, nice pacing. Turkey has a lot to offer, including friendly Turks, the Dolma was from a Turkish household! Hope to see you there, I'm hoping for a visitation encore.

I thought Albania is a Muslim country, but they are very Europeans!! Different Muslims 😮😮
@vendumsica2 ай бұрын
I see some baffling comments about Albania, so I feel compelled to provide the actual details... 😂 We are outoctonus to Europe, Muslim religion was forced by Ottoman Empire ruling.....50% of Albanians are Christian ( and Orthodox), not counting the growing number of atheists and agnostics. The statistics on Google are outdated. Not only is the Orthodox Church situated just a few meters from the mosque, but Albanians are incredibly tolerant of religious differences, not just in theory but also in practice, and we even get extra holidays! 🎉 Oh, and when the Pope visited, he dined at a Muslim restaurant where they had hung a cross in his honor.
@TeamMcGrathАй бұрын
I think you are confusing race and religion my friend. Religion isn't defined by ones looks or background but instead by the way in which they wish to live their life 🙂

Albanians are Europeans! And the oldest ones at that! Didnt you know that Albania is in Europe and that makes them europeans??
