It might sound silly but I actually think it would be interesting if a park like Universal incorporated actors instead of animatronics sometime. Not only would it be more realistic and interactive, probably even cheaper in the long run. Imagine having two to three actors rotating in a work day, dressed and made up like part of the scenery like when Johnny Depp made that appearance on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. I think it would make the ride experience even better and people would appreciate it a lot.

The funniest part is that the fair we got in Hamburg is called the "Hamburger Dom". In any other german city, the "Dom" is a large church, so you occasionally get tourists looking around our numerous churches asking which one is the "Hamburger Dom" and then you gotta tell them it's not a building. And might not even be there right now. (On a side-note, even if they can look a bit sketchy German fair-rides are pretty safe as they're closely monitored by the TÜV)

That Shaker thing is amazing! I went in both Ride to Happiness and Toutatis this year, but also in something that looked like Shaker (under a different name but clearly the same thing), and that was clearly the most extreme of all. I went in multiple days, but had to limit it to 3 rides per day so I could still drive home afterwards. I was told that the rides are highly affected by who's controlling it (it's not automated apparently), and on the best ride I had, my chair got into a spin and flipped 11 times in a row! Next year Iron Gwazy is on my list, after I do a 0-gravity flight at Kennedy Space Center :)

You be lucky you have no lines. this summer we waited a good 45 minutes a ride in Dusseldorf cause it was packed. And most German fairs have the same nights. Pretty packed. This was great! Definitely not as big as the Düsseldorf fair but to be fair that one is also one of the largest in the country. The ride selection is pretty typical for a mid-sized fair, I went to one in Berlin back in 2018 where the largest coaster was a Reverchon spinning mouse. Still much larger than the fair-rides we have back in Denmark though. I know Hamburger Dom used to be a regular stop for Teststrecke, aka the former Laser loop from Dorney park, almost identical to Colossus at Lagoon with the 2 big loops. That was however before Mellors group bought the ride and afaik it is now in Saudi Arabia. Bit of a shame really, it was one of the big 5 left on the fair circuit alongside Olympia Looping, Alpina Bahn, Hollenblitz, and Wilde Maus XXL.

All the boys trying to show off in the local annual town fair by sitting up in the break dance ride. Or "chasing" the girl you fancy in the bumber cars. Boys that age still think: I can impress the girls by riding the toughest ride and pretend to be bored (and not throw up) -> They'll all think I'm super tough and cool. Used to work better probably, when they were actually playing along and watching the boys, rather than scroll TikTok the entire time. I was too shy for that though anyways. The whole business is competely different. Most fairs in Germany are held by the city, and each showman has to apply with their ride, game stall or food stand. So presentation, reliability and unique offering are much more important here. Also on the fair itself each showman has to bring in their own money, so they try to be as attractive and inviting to the customers as possible. And as the rides only make money when selling individual tickets hourly throughput is a lot more interesting than in the US where the rides are more a draw to get people into the carnival and then make money with the food stands and games (speaking for smaller carnivals with one showman owning everything). On top of that the shorter distances allow for more transports while still earning money and less need to have everything on one truck.
