Nice video. When you visit Drenthe again come to Emmen. It is 15 min from the German border. You can see Hunnenbedden in this area, which are ancient burial sites. On Fridays there is a market in the city centre. The Wall of Emmen (Muur van Emmen) is reachable by bicycle and is a whole 4805 cm above sea level. There is also a big zoo and fun park called Wildlands in the centre.

Seconding this! Also Borger, Drouwen, Eext, Exloo, Zuidlaren. If you feel up for spending some more time in Drenthe, cycling around.... All of these places have either Hunnebedden or gorgeous nature or both. The best way to see Emmen and surrounding areas is by bike, or have someone tour you around by car. I bet all Buncharted has to do is ask! :D (ps: Google "huifkar" and you'll find plenty of fun stuff. )

Wieringen and Urk are not islands anymore because they are connected to the mainland by reclaiming (or is it claiming) land, but they still feel and look like an Island. I live in Hippolytushoef (which is the former Island of Wieringen, Viking Island with it's own History). The Dutch are famous for their stampots, haring and kroketten/bitterballen (and Febo...whohoo), but after the disaster of the flood in 1953 the Netherlands deciced to fight and conquer the sea. The Dutch are especially asked to implement water management meassurements all around the world with the incredible work we have been able to do to make our own country safe (made the Zuiderzee into the Ijselmeer by creating the longest and biggest Dike at that time), it might be our biggest technical achievement. Katerina was awfull, we could have helped. For us it is a necessity to protect us against the sea. (another destination for you, the Deltawerken in Zeeland, you will see it is just amazing). You made me realize how much feats we have in such a small country...and we Dutch are pragmatic and we share the knowledge.

I got hungry from all the food you had in the video. Time to go to the supermarket. After visiting all 12 provinces it is time to visit the Caribbean part of Koninkrijk der Nederlanden: Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten. Aruba has average maximum temperature of 29 to 32 Celsius (84 to 89 Fahrenheit) throughout the year so very nice. October, november and december is rainseason but it rains mostly at night and morning. ❤❤❤

The wasp was definitely after the meat, and not the sugar. They collect meat to feed to their larvae. Btw, when you go back to Drenthe, Orvelte is worth a visit.

They didn't visit the provinces, only the provincial capital cities. You can't judge on Drenthe if you haven't cycled the country side with the Hunebedden and heathen in the national parks, for example ..

They visited them all, they might not experienced all of it, and they were planning on biking with the OV-fiets. In the next year they will be visiting the rest of the 342 gemeenten especially the special gemeente in the Caribbean part of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands and probably they still not experiencing everything

Assen is internationally known for the Dutch TT (motor)racing & circuit, near to the Baggelhuizerplas. The blue/white tower and the car in the Govenorspark are from the distinct "Verkeerspark" themepark where children could learn how to 'drive' and behave in traffic. The park sadly went bankrupt and a part of the park has moved to the "Duinenzathe" themepark in Appelscha.

When it started to rain, it was the perfect opportunity to go to the Drents Museum! It's one of my favourite museums in NL, they often have interesting temporary exhibits and a nice permanent collection as well. Part of their permanent collection are several peat mummies/bog bodies - very fascinating! You also missed the statue of Bartje near the museum. He's a literary character from this region, and the books were also adapted for TV. His most famous quote is "Ik bid niet veur brune bon’n!" ("I won't say grace for common brown beans!")

Christmas season is coming! Maybe you would like to visit a Christmas market! In Valkenburg, Limburg, you could visit one in the caves. It has a very special ambiance with nice stalls and lots interesting history

last year you guys visited the Christmas market of Maastricht in Limburg. Neighbouring small town Valkenburg aan de Geul ( Valkenburg Limburg) has 2 christmas markets in Caves ( kerststad Valkenburg/ see vids on youtube). In combination with the Catacombs and Mergelrijk you can make a killer vlog that generates a lot of views and fun on your part.

We have the Emmer Turfjes. In Emmen. Peet was the main industry in south east Drenthe. Peet colonies were founded in the 1800. Emmen is a lot older. 900 ad .. 1100 years old. But the hunebedden megalith are 5000. I love to show you guys around when your visiting drenthe. The biking province of the Netherlands.

I always go to Assen to visit the Drents Museum. It's not very big, but it has a lot of interesting exhibitions. There was one on Frida Kahlo last year, and I think they have one on Vincent van Gogh's time in Drenthe right now. They are currently renovating the archeology section, so you can't visit that part right now, but if you can, I would recommend it.

If you go back to Drenthe, make sure to visit the Huneberg center in Borger. It gives you the story about the prehistoric Huneberg builders. Greetzz from Delft.

Never knew that Assen *(the place where i love) has a donut vender🎉😂 thank you for sharing some insights and vision of Assen 🙏🎉 you were in the Gouverneurs tuin and the cars and tower were from a very old attractionparc about traffic...it was quite known in whole Drenthe to inform kids in a fun way about all that has to do with traffic,its closed since a few years and as a honor of the first parc that started in the place of Gouverneurstuin,they placed some old things there:)

(a small, very old street in the city-centre, just on the right side of the museum, where it looks as if you're going back in time about 100 years ago) and also de Vaart. I just moved with my family from Rotterdam to Brabant. From the big city to a little village. Lived in Rdam my whole life i'm 42 now. Living in the big city with kids is very bad. Its like going back in time. The way people are in our new hometown is way better so social. Just like it was when i grew up in Rdam 30 years ago.

Now you're experts! I do miss a Flevoland city in your journey, but I understand that is a bit of a challenge to make a good city vlog in this province. However, if you go to Almere in the right season (spring, summer or early autumn) and the right plan, you might be pleasantly surprised. Almere is "four villages in a trenchcoat" and on surface level has 3 things going for it: Parks, big brand shops and modern architecture. But there are some hidden gems, especially Almere Haven.

Pronunciation of Beenham needs a slight adjustment: Been and ham are separate entities and though it is one word the H is pronounced. In essence the H is slightly harsher exhale of your breath. Have a Dutch person to show it, oh, different areas, different accents... even with something as ham. 😊

I was rather surprised to learn Mexican restaurants were so rare in the West. Groningen has three in the city centre alone. It's probably because immigrants tend to land near countrymen and Groningen has quite a Latin American community for decades.

My wife and I regularly go to Drenthe because of the natural beauty. Assen.....mmmwah.....what on earth am I supposed to do there? But the "Dwingelderveld", the "Drents-Friese Wold" and the "Bargerveen" are our favorite places. Yes, Assen is the capital of the province, but our hometown Hoofddorp is bigger :-)

You guys have seen a lot more from the Netherlands than i have seen in my whole life. The mustard soup should be made from Dutch mustard and it probably was. How to tell the differences? Dutch mustard is made with whole mustard seeds.

Ah the (un)predictable weather of the Netherlands. When you go back to Drenthe, also look at the hunebeds, which are ancient burial places that Drenthe is known for. It might not help you figure out where you want to live. But it might be an interesting bit of history. I think this might be another one of those bad habits you mentioned earlier, but the ham in beenham is not pronounced like that. It's two distinct syllables, been-ham, smooshed together. It's not like the ham in Cunningham or Nottingham. Also: Gefeliciteerd met het bezoeken van onze 12 provincies!

So nice, i was born and grown up near Assen, little bit towards Groningen and went to school in Zwolle, Zwolle's center is kinda nice, but small. We always went to Groningen as youngsters, Assen was ok for buying clothes. 😁 Drenthe kniepertjes are nice local cookies, maybe you gotta try next time, if you are on a market and they sell them... And wondering if you two tried poffertjes yet (mini pancakes) with butter and powdered sugar. 😋

Haast all provincies hebben Mexicaanse restaurants maar heb gehoord van iemand die in arnhem (gelderland) daar gegeten heeft dat het daar goed is en vlakbij het treinstation ook in het centrum van arnhem Misschien daar een keer heen ? Maar ik Raad het stadje Wageningen ook aan dat is ongeveer 25 minuten met de bus vanuit arnhem en 20 minuten vanuit Ede wat op jullie route zou liggen als je jullie deze kant op zouden gaan.

You must have missed it but there are lost of Mexican restaurants in Rotterdam as well, and also Dordrecht has some. So it's not just the north. And Assen is most famous for the yearly TT motorcycle race wich is part of the MotoGP World championship.

Now that you've visited all 12 provinces and eaten many of their regional food specialties, I would like to know what food(s) is your favorite. It obviously doesn't have to be anything fancy or specific to any particular region. Just asking because you've sampled so many foods common to the Netherlands. Full disclosure: some of the foods I still miss after having lived away from Nederland for over 60 years: stampot met rookworst, saucijzenbroodjes, kroketten out of the wall at Febo, spekkoek, sate met pindasaus and nasi goreng.

(Special municipalities) Just for you info ;)

Drenthe is always last. In anyone's thoughts in our country. Groningen a close second. You really have not "seen" Drenthe. Assen may be Drenthe's capital, but it's not really, ...drenths. It's way more provincial than rural. I hope you're gonna find a little bit more rural, and the smaller villages like Eext and Zuidlaren.

@@bunchartedmusea in the Netherlands are not always dusty old curiosity cabinets. There are many very interactive musea that are more than worth a visit. Especially open air kind of musea, like the national open air museum in Arnhem or Archeon in Alphen aan de Rijn. Some are almost like theme parks like the Spoorwegmuseum in Utrecht.
