I can’t encourage you enough to look for sewing classes Kiera can enroll in. When I was her age, my mom enrolled me in a sewing studio and it was some of my favorite childhood memories. All the projects they help you create, not to mention I am the only one of my friends that can sew buttons back on and ripped clothing together. Super useful in the long run!

Another thing with sewing that we always had problems with was we would pull or push the fabric while sewing when you don't really want to do that. Just guide the fabric as the machine does the work. Great job learning to sew Keira!

Sinigang is the first Filipino dish i learned to cook when i moved out of my parents house. I love it when it’s sour. In my sinigang i use pork belly, onions, tomatoes, blotchy, daikon. So yummy. Especially when it is cold outside. Omg

For your sewing machine, you also want to make sure the bobbin is in correctly and the way the bobbin thread is going is also in correctly.

Make sure the tension on the sewing machine isn’t off for the type of fabric. That always tripped me up when I learned to sew. 👍🏼

Issues with the sewing machine could be that the tension is wrong, either top or bottom. Could also be that the threads are getting caught at the bottom cos there isn’t enough thread out of the machine. It’s always worth using a “thread buddy” or “leader and ender” to keep the thread from being eaten by the machine. There are plenty of videos about leaders and Enders on KZbin. Good luck.

You may want to check out Spoonflower. I had a friend who loved to draw and design create a design for custom fabric and I used it for several fun sewing projects. It’s pricey but it’s been a great keepsake. Seeing how much JB loves to draw and Keira sew made me think of those projects my friend and I did together.

Living in the south, most of us have some kind of pork,black eyed peas, green. Might be collards,cabbage, rice and cornbread. Chow Chow on the peas which is a mild to hot condiment! So good!

Hey Judy! I was just practicing on the sewing machine recently. My machine was jamming in the beginning because I wasn’t holding the two threads towards the back of the machine when I started sewing. They would catch each other and jam up my machine.

I googled common reasons why a sewing machine keeps jamming and the top three were, 1. Incorrect thread tension 2. Thread mis-placement 3. Bobbin issues. Learning thread tension while sewing is a learning curve. If the thread above the needle gets too loose it will jam. ps: Benji's face of satisfaction after you take a sip of his coffees! 😄
