We were invited to the French Embassy in Washington D.C. for the After Party of the White House Correspondents Dinner. It was a really fun experience to get dressed up and go to a black tie event. We also wanted to just share with you guys our adventures of 24 hours in D.C. Hope you enjoy tagging along!

Notice how at 9:57 if you look carefully, there’s a line on the Washington Monument where one part is darker and the the rest of it is lighter? There’s a reason for this! Construction for the monument began in 1848. But construction for it halted in 1856 when donations to fund it dried up. Groups in charge of raising money argued over how the monument should represent George Washington and the nation. Building resumed only when Congress authorized public funds to complete the work in 1876. When construction resumed, new stones for the Monument came from new quarries. In 1876, white marble from a different Maryland quarry combined with granite from several quarries in New England to create stones that completed the Monument.

The burgundy gown and the velvet tux were the bomb! ❤ Jessi, you embrace dresses and I also used to wear a lot of dresses. But i now wear black oxford shoes that i can fit my custom orthotics into. They are ugly and do not "go" with pretty dresses. Enjoy your dresses. They are more comfortable than pants, and you look so beautiful in them!❤

Great video! Love DC. So much to see. Was your hotel Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square? Probably didn't get time to ride Metro but it's great too. Great to walk around because traffic can be terrible.

I lived in northern Virginia, right outside of DC for 9 years. It is beautiful there & a fun place to visit. Most everything there to explore is free. Of course, there are some particular museums that cost, but get a day pass for the metro & just go explore. Even the zoo was free!
