It was so relaxing! Even though it’s hot, we had clear skies for weeks which meant some nice sunsets!

the little one is growing up so fast. you were one of the first persons that I followed about japan to help me experience it way back in 2012/13ish? glad to see you all doing well, keep up the videos when you can!

I love Evie's custom subtitles haha. Neat about the fisherman thing, that's a wild practice!!
@Ciaela4 ай бұрын
Truly! They use the fire to lure the fish I think? And to help them see? And then the birds dive down and get them but then they give them to the fisherman in exchange for treats 😆

great to see you again. I think the last time was with Tokyo Creative but I prefer your more personal laid back delivery. Your knowledge of Kyushu places you ahead of the many other vlogs and the one if I remember you did for the Fukuoka tourist commision was very watchable . Sorry if I got these out of order. As I have mobility issues I enjoy your quality japanese content as I do not see myself getting to Japan in the short term.
@Ciaela4 ай бұрын
I totally understand what you mean. Kyushu is definitely my area of expertise, and different assignments have different vibes. I was so happy Fairfield trusted me to design the itinerary myself, I did all the scheduling and bookings and that’s so rare with travel related content these days. Your comment makes me feel like I should push for it more in the future :) Thanks so much for your helpful feedback!

The decor is so light and airy and I love that they’re helping to offload the burden of over tourism by being mindful of their locations! They have another location down south in Kagoshima right by Sakurajima (the volcano) that I want to check out someday!
What a delightful weekend away. Thanks for sharing. Love Kyushu - have visited twice and still so much to see.

Yes! People think it’s a small island but there’s a lot of diversity amongst the prefectures - and of course we have a giant volcano right in the center of it all too! Definitely come back and explore more!

Time is so fleeting hey? I can’t believe mine is already two and she’s so much more independent and needs me less than before (I was genuinely shocked when she said “sumimasen!” and tried to order jellies haha.)
Hey! I recently went to Choon No Taki on the 10th of August 2024, when did you go? I am half japanese and visited japan for the summer btw 😂 Also, were you ok during the recent earthquakes??? I was in Fukuoka Prefecture at the time
Impressively, she knows how to eat with chopsticks. They kicked me out because I was too insistent on eating a lobster with my chopsticks in an aggressive way, but it's tough food, you know, with a lot of splatter.
